Good comment. The news media are suckers for statistics, even if they are true. Analysis of actual word usages is a far more honest index of what's going on in the public debate on any subject. It is the exact opposite of one of the high-paid liars at the New York Times looking into his or her (this means you, Maureen) navel, and then propounding "authoritatively" what Americans think and believe.
