In order to negotiate a peace agreement in good faith, both parties have to be sick and tired of the senseless killing.

The Israelis are at that point already, willing to give up land previously considered non-negotiable.

The Palis are not there yet, but they might become sick and tired of the violence soon if Israel keeps up this anti-intifada. (See Hamas going back to the negotiating table after withdrawing early this week)

The road map can still work in the near future.

Agree. Israeli action is a prerequisite to any chance of this roadmap working. In the absence of IDF action the stalemate would just continue.
