The silence up at the state capital over the arrest on rape charges of Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver's chief counsel is troubling, though predictable.
J. Michael Boxley, arguably Silver's most powerful staffer, is charged with raping a 22-year-old Assembly aide Tuesday morning after he agreed to drive her home from a night out in Albany bars.

That is to say, she feared she'd be slimed by Silver & Co. THE most powerful forces in the Capitol!

"You should be more compassionate." (What Boxley reportedly told his last assault victim after he'd finished with her)

Sheldon Silver's complicity in the rape sets the Assembly up for a major civil lawsuit.....and taxpayers will pay for another Democrat mistake. He should resign immediately and this should be national news.

How about that: Charged with first-degree rape - and still on the job Meanwhile, people are whispering: Assembly Democrats are telling sordid tales about the alleged victim - doing their best to ruin her reputation.
Where have we heard this before?!

Assembly Democrats are telling sordid tales about the alleged victim - doing their best to ruin her reputation. Yeah, that sounds about right. What scum!

He should resign immediately and this should be national news Dicker is on this! He is also the political analyst for the local CBS Affiliate here in Albany. He was absolutely stunned yesterday by the reaction of the Assembly members. Stunned!

Thanks for posting the followup and your ping.
When I read this, I keep thinking about a former AG and then governor of Arkrazy, and how he got by with serial raping and serial abusing women.
No one in Arkrazy stood up and said "This will stop now! You will go to prison!"
So, this serial rapist and abuser of women, who was adored and lusted after by his fellow rats, became President of America. He continued his pattern of Rat Sexual Predation while in the White House.
If Boxley gets the right lawyers and a wink and nod from his fellow Rats, he might become the President of the United States. He has the same qualities that the Clintoon had/has.

That woman has her nerve complaining, after all Silver and Boxley are DEMOCRATS, and it is OK for Democrats to rape women.
As long as they keep the abortion mills humming they are the "Champions of Women Everywhere".
Puke.

No one in Arkrazy stood up and said "This will stop now! You will go to prison!" And, amazingly, that suggestion was not made to Boxley either. According to his first victim:
"Crothers, in an exclusive interview with The Post, accused Silver of breaking a never-before-disclosed promise to take steps to control Boxley's sexual appetite.
She said Silver's failure to discipline Boxley set the stage for his stunning arrest Wednesday in his Assembly office on charges of raping a pretty Assembly employee the day before.
"Back then, Speaker Silver's solution to Boxley's 'improprieties' - that was the word Silver used when I met with him - was that he told me he told Boxley that he could no longer go out to the bars," said Crothers, 26.
"No punitive action was taken. He was told not to go out with anyone. How juvenile is that?"
Apparently ... that solution did not work. Here is the complete story.
TARNISHED SILVER

How about that: Charged with first-degree rape - and still on the job. Well, why shouldn't he still be on the job? As long as his personal life doesn't detract from his professional life, he needs to get back to the job of the American people.
It's his ACCUSERS who are distracting him from performing his critical and important duties.
Just in case...........sarcasm off.

Thanks for your reply and excellent insight to what is happening with this serious matter in NY.
It is amazing how the so called caring party for women just shuts its eyes, ears and mouths, when something like this happens.
I bet that the person he raped two years ago and this woman are just the tip of the iceberg of serial rapes for this predator/criminal.
Has the NY Bar moved on him yet? If not, pressure should be put the Bar to take a stand.

Apart from state Sen. Tom Duane, a Manhattan Democrat, nobody else in the Capitol is talking. Duane accused Silver of "dropping the ball" on sex crimes in the Legislature, saying he'd ignored "a big warning" two years ago.
Isnt Tom Duane the gay assemblyman? Not that it matters much here, Im just curious.
Assembly Democrats are telling sordid tales about the alleged victim - doing their best to ruin her reputation.
Odd that the states leading feminist politician is silent on this gross and flagrant abuse of the innocent victim.

Two years ago, another young legislative aide, Elizabeth Crothers, accused Boxley of raping her under disturbingly similar circumstances. She never filed a criminal complaint, saying she didn't have the stomach for a long, drawn-out legal process.
Im sure shes feeling pretty guilty now. And I hate to say it but
she should.

That's interesting. I was just assuming he was a white guy. This being NY, it can only get more circus-like with that thrown into the mix.

Isnt Tom Duane the gay assemblyman? Yup. As big a commie as he is, I will credit him for doing the right thing.
And though a man should be innocent until proven guilty, our experience with Clinton shows that when one has other incidents in his past, he is likely of commiting the present crimes.
