The New York Times has found mistakes and journalistic fraud in 11 additional articles by former reporter Jayson Blair, the newspaper announced yesterday, a week after its top two editors resigned in part because they had promoted Blair.
< SNIP >
The Times announced the corrections in an editors' note but did not publish them in yesterday's newspaper. Readers instead were directed to an Internet address, www.nytimes.com/corrections.html, where there is a link to a separate Web page with the corrections. This page will be accessible for one week, and the paper's archives will be updated to reflect the corrections, the editors note said.
Some journalism experts criticized the paper for not printing the corrections. Paul Levinson, chairman of the communication and media studies department at Fordham University, said, "The mistakes appeared in the printed newspaper, not just on the Web. The Times owes it to its readers and journalistic integrity to print the full corrections."

Thanks--but I refuse to read any more posts that are excerpted when it is not necessary to excerpt.

According to the
Settlement terms, (pages 18-20) I don't see
Newsday being a WP or LA Times affiliate.
I do see Newsweek, but I was not aware they are the same publication. If I am in error, please let me know. Thanks.

Well, at least newsday doesn't make you register to read. Have another cup of coffee.

She also said interim executive editor Joseph Lelyveld did not believe the latest falsehoods and mistakes warranted publication. "While we recognize a need to correct the record on stories, these corrections have no continuing impact, and we do not believe they change the reader's understanding in any important way," she said. Hmpf. Lelyveld's going to end up leaving before his time, too.

Can I really believe what the NY Times says anymore? How do I know this article is true? "can't we all just get along?"
To: Dr. I. C. Spots
How many lies did Jayson Blair really tell? Who cares.

"While we recognize a need to correct the record on stories, these corrections have no continuing impact, and we do not believe they change the reader's understanding in any important way," she said. 'No continuing impact' is what they would like to believe. 'We do not believe they change the readers understanding' is what they are hoping. No such luck NYT. Just another editor with spin... more crow to be eaten.
