This poster would very much like to see a wide, cooperative effort by the “conservative” (and libertarian) new media such as FR, Rush Limbaugh, LGF, Michelle Malkin, Drudge, actually start sharing technologies and working together more. (no I didn’t forget Fox, they’re not really any use anymore)
The liberals have an oligopoly on message. And flash. And they brainwash voters and choose our candidates with that flash. Because there is a sizable segment of Americans, who are not quite up to FReeping or seeking out Little Green Footballs as a source of information.
This election has demonstrated, we do not control our own elections. We were out-spun. Out-messaged. Out-spent, and now we’re left with the candidate which the MEDIA WANTED FOR THE LAST 10 YEARS.
That’s because, they have not been effectively challenged.
The media needs to be taken down a peg. Then another peg.
Then replaced.
That won’t happen with websites. We need a new technology of some sort.
And more Michelle Malkin please. :)

As for me, I'm a 'small-r' republican, just like Thomas Jefferson (as best as I can determine). I've sworn an oath to support our constitutional republic; any political party named after it comes second (if that).

I vote Independent Conservative Republicans and Reagan Democrats.
Jefferson is good. I generally try to vote for as much James Madison and as little FDR as I can find.

Oh, IMHO "he'd drop the Big One" (let that stand as a prediction, FWIW, for his second term if maybe not his first, if he's elected)...
The eventual full enactment of the Fairness Doctrine will truly end the existence of “everything conservative”, and this includes the unfortunate end to the existence of Free Republic. The only question left is exactly when this will happen? Truly making the next Congress a conservative majority should be the next major goal for all conservatives from now on in order to truly put a halt to “everything leftist” by the future “leftist” POTUS!
That’s scary... as is McCain’s lack of mental stability.
But whatever you label FR, I'm for honest interpretations of the Constitution based on the fact-verified intentions of constitutional lawmakers; the Constitution reflects conservative values, not liberal values in my opinion. Sadly, republicans and conservatives alike haven fallen into the trap of politically correct interpretations of the Constitution. Fortunately, the democrats have usually been there to break their fall.
There is a difference between voting Republican and working within the state organization. I have done that for years and I had to be careful not to step outside the bounds and point out problems within the party, whether that was about an office holder or some practice they had I thought was incorrect or detrimental to the party. Freedom of specch does not apply if one wants to stay in the good graces of the Republican Party organization.
My political work was important so I didn’t rock the boat so I could keep doing it.
I would not want Free Republic to be attached to the party as some in the Republican Party organization might think they can put restraints on it. The problem with organizations is, they have written and unwritten rules and the unwritten ones will get one black listed and ousted. One has to conform to the organization mentality if one wants to stay within that social order. Independent thinkers usually have difficulty with highly organized groups.
Free Republic is just that - free. I would hate to see it linked to the Republican Party. I come here because it isn’t linked and I can say what I truly think instead of having to decide if my thoughts might offend someone in the organization.
Stay Free Republic.

John McCain is a creation of forces working to manipulate and ultimately destroy our system of government.
He's as unstable as Mel Gibson in the 1997 "Conspiracy Theory" with Patrick Stewart as Sydney Gottlieb.
The tension between what he is and what he must feign is sometimes so great he tears his face off as in the airport scene in Total Recall with Arnold Schwarzenegger.
He can relax and play Solitaire soon because the media will tear his face off for him.
I must be the only dumb one here. I don’t understand the question.
It's led to some bizarre moments as when he claimed, "This is no more amnesty than I am a Martian."
I'm looking for an article to post on how the Hillary team will destroy him over his actions as a POW.
