Or... GW makes a deal to bail out California, must include aid to other states as well; state governments around the country lose restraint on spending, federal deficit goes up another $75 billion; stock market rebound halts.

Despite the bailout, the GOP governor is still faced with huge deficits, and must either raise taxes, cut spending, or both. He tries to cut spending, activating all the liberal groups. Homelessness stories cover the papers. Democrats in the legislature spend all of 2004 issuing press releases about the hard times in the state, activating their base and moving swing independents into their column. The governor's spending cuts stall in the legislature, and he resorts to a compromise including a variety of tax increases on business. The further weakens the California economy, and alienates the GOP base. Boxer is elected hands down. The Republicans are left weaker than they started.

yup, you've got it I think. Just let Davis stew in it, don't nationalize californias problems, let them raise taxes, Bush does not need it in 2004, its a lost cause just like NY.

Maybe you best stay home and watch the adults remove the Dimwit Davis. You obviously have not been paying attention. First, whoever beats Davis will have the line item veto. There is absolutely no reason to raise taxes or fees. If you had been paying attention you would know that if the budget is cut ten percent off the top from what it was in 1998 within two years the budget would be balanced. The problem is not revenue. The problem is that the morons in Sacramento have been spending more than the state has been bringing in. The overwhelming majority of people in this state who pay taxes are not concerned about the liberal agenda. There is absolutely no one in this state who wants a place to stay that cannot get one. I know because I have been providing food, shelter and clothing for the destitute for decades. So you can take that homeless BS and stick it where the sun doesn't shine. Every day the Dimwit Davis is in office he is spending THIRTY MILLION DOLLARS more than the state is bringing in. The Dimwit lied before the election about the budget deficit and he lied about not raising taxes and fees. The liberals have run this state into the ground while making it practically impossible for businesses to prosper. Maybe you should run back to the Dimwit Davis' office and tell him to start packing. Because he is toast and it is time for the GOP to again clean up the mess that the Dimwit keg party has left in Sacramento as we have been doing in this country for over fifty years.
