A funny thing happened before I managed to leave the office to go to the Hillary FReep today.

I received a call on my cell phone from a local TV channel reporter. He identified himself and his network; then he ascertained that he had called the correct contact person relating to Hillary's booksigning event at Trover Books and Cards.

He asked me if he could get a few minutes to talk to Senator Clinton. (I'd like a few minutes to talk to Senator Clinton myself!) The humor of the situation was too much and I laughed a little as I set him straight. I assured him that I would definitely be attending Hillary's booksigning event -- on the opposite side of the street protesting Hillary. Unfortunately, I could not get him an interview.

After I identified myself as the Co-Leader of the DC Chapter of Free Republic, the reporter also saw the humorous aspects and told me that "they" gave my name and number to him as the contact person on the Hillary event. I was flattered. It was just Hillary-ous!

By the way, although there were at least six cameramen outside the front of Trover Books, none from that local station made it across the street for a promised interview by the reporter.

Some of the newsprint, internet and TV/radio media whose representatives interviewed DC Chapter members included: Washington Post, Washington Times, USATODAY, Voice of America, CTI TV (Thailand), Taiwan TV, Baltimore Sun, National Review, The Hill, Rollcall and lots of photos were taken.

Add to the media list: Israel TV (they interviewed me when staytrue and I were just arrived, and they took lots of video of my doctored book cover poster) and Insight Magazine.

P.S. I told the Israel TV interviewer that I didn't always agree with President Bush, most recent example being his comments chastising the Israel leadership for defending themselves against terrorist attackers of Hamas. And I reminded the interviewer that Hillary!'s campaign had taken donations from Muslims in America who had ties to terrorists.

P.P.S. If only we had a DC Chapter member who could do a good impersonation of Hillary! - you could have arranged for the news guy to interview "Hillary!" ... put that on the agenda for the next chapter meeting, please.

Nice job DC Freepers. The HRC Legacy Rebuilding project is thwarted by your vigilant efforts. Although the Kool-Aid drinkers hate you (and us) the niddle of America needs to be constantly reminded.

Another "Citizens, not spectators" Award for the DC Chapter of FR's posh DC headquarters display case. Must be pretty full by now.

You guys and gals ROCK. And while this is no doubt also fun, let no Freeper forget that it is an investment of time and energy. Keep up the great work.
