Sen Clinton is one of the most extraordinary women that I have ever met, and we as a people and as a nation are lucky to have her serving this great country of ours. The book I recommend to all, to learn how one could be so graced with passion and so human. My daugthers, Laura and Paij, see her as a role model for all women.

I admire Senator Clinton very much because she is intelligent, hard-working, kind, and has a deep faith in God. I don't know any women who have accomplished as much as she has, including repairing a damaged marriage, and done it with such grace, wisdom, and strength. I admire that. She is a remarkable woman and I don't understand why other women bash her. She is what we stand for-strength and courage.

Now, more than ever, I think she could win the 2004 Presidential race AND Bill would make a fine first gentleman (?). He's had enough of his own successes he wouldn't feel competitive with her -- but rather bask in the victory of her defeating Bush !! 2008 may be too late.
If only we could fill her vacated Senate seat with a worthy democrat...
Is she doing any Bay Area book signings ?? I'd buy a 2nd copy.

I have spent all weekend reading this book. I have never been a dedicated believer of the Clintons or against them. I think the book is great and shows a human side of people that we all forgot and are often led to believe are not human.
It is a wonderful look at a time in history that we have not yet begun to understand (60's, 70's, etc). Senator Clinton has the ability to put into words what so many have been struggling with. Thank you!

"The first thing that I noticed was that this book was misclassified. It should be in the Fiction section. Either she knew about her husband's infidelity at the White House, and is lying... or she did not know and is unfit for public office. "

Did not see this one when I went back either.

Straighten the boy out. The couple that freeps together stays together. Or was that prays together? It gives us an easy way to mingle with others and each other while at work. Some days we actually never cross paths on FR.

Sent in, "I shall not waste a moment reading it."

I wonder if they will see the double meaning?

I wonder it it will ever see the light of day again?

Probably not.

Here's one from me... I bet this review will never see the light of day.

Hype, thy name is Hillary.

In all truth (a concept not even remotely associated with excerpt I reviewed) it is hard to blame Hillary for the character of her content, considering the book was probably completely ghost written. But upon hearing reports that she cashed the check rendered for this project, I feel compelled to blame her.

A whole forest of innocent trees was murdered so she could write her memoirs; out of respect for their leafy memory, if she was not going to be truthful at least she should have been interesting.

Alas, she was neither truthful NOR interesting. One of the saddest things about this book is the revelation that Hillary seems to be unable to truly get in touch with her inner bitch. If there was ever a woman who had reason to be a bitch, it's Hillary Rodham Clinton. She was married to the most embarrassingly clumsy philanderer born this or any other century, Bill Clinton. This is the modern age, for crying out loud - yet here she is, standing by her man, baking the terrible tasting cookies of martyrdom and making us eat them at the kitchen table of her soul. No thank you. Please, please, for once, just tell the truth! How much it would do for Hillary if she only could.

Consider the women who would flock to her defense if she could just once say, "Bill's an idiot. He's got as much charisma as a monkey on crack, but hey, he was the President of the United States! C'mon, I stayed for the silverware!!" OR "What he saw in that heifer, I don't know. Look at her! He could at least have the decency to get his groove on with a woman who wears a dress size without an exponent following it..."

It would be a delicious, guilty pleasure to read such an expose, a real treat that would leave the women at the watercooler gasping for weeks. But the juicy parts are dry - even the purported tears seem dusty.

If this excerpt's any indication, "Living History" is an endless dribble of drivel, written for the ladies' high tea; only a lady who was high would believe it.

Score: 1

You'll not find a better "reaction" than this review from Amazon.com:
Professional Lies by a professional liar, June 10, 2003

Reviewer: A reader from somewhere in America

If you wish a more accurate verison of reality try the newspapers of the day......the verbatum record is far superior than this politically motivated tribute to revisionist history and victimhood.

The saddest thing about this book is that the greatest truth to be gleaned from it is that it is an example of the controlling tendencies of those whom it is supposed to represent.

There will be many reviews that follow this one that, I fear, will be far harsher than my own, but you will be able to judge the level of pain caused by these people by the content of those reviews.....

Whatever Nixon's failings were, he truly loved his country more than himself, and rather than force the country to suffer by his continued presence, he WENT AWAY....not these folks, who are hell bent to sell us their version, cleaned and revised, by shoving themselves down our throats.....

If they loved the country, they would just go away, but the love they feel is for themselves, and all others be damned.

There is, of course, a possibly positive side, especially if you are reading this review, and it hasn't been "prevented" from seeing the light of day.....that will be good, because it means that honesty is still alive and well in this great country, and that is a very good thing.....especially after watching the completly dishonest ABC news sellout on TV where false answers, that even the viewers knew were false, were allowed to stand.

Because of the history involved, I have chosen, for the first time ever, to post anonymously.

Wish I knew who wrote this. They need applause!

SeeBS-Viacom's publishing arm (S&S) wants to hear from me?!! I don't believe it. These are the same people who overdubbed the boos Hillary received at the concert for NYC with cheers.

Only the positive reviews are showing up. Here's mine:

I find it amazing what the left considers to be their role models. First of all, we have a feminist icon on the front cover of a book with her face airbrushed like a cover model. Then, we are treated to the laughable ramblings of a, supposedly, intelligent woman who would have us believe that she was completely in the dark about her husband's serial philandering. Apparently, her book was written for the hopelessly gullible and the terminally partisan sheep who think that she, nor her husband, can do any wrong. It is more of the same drivel that we have heard for the past ten years: nothing is ever their fault. Any criticism is chalked up to the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy. And, last but not least, it is nothing more than a campaign speech set into book format. I would, by all means, suggest it to people who have a problem dealing with reality, since the author(s) apparently have the same problem. It is the perfect book for those who will swallow as much Kool-Aid as is presented to drink. It is a book by a woman who screams about her privacy when confronted with the tough questions, yet wants to be included in that ever-growing club known as Female Victimhood. Don't waste your time or money. Score: 1

Amazon must have gotten enough flak for holding back the gates.

***Amazom.com Runs From Crusty Customer Reviews***

Meanwhile, S&S has no negatvive comments in the feedback (and some came long in advance from these people even seeing the book).

You realize, of course, that all the responses are going to be posted after having been reviewed by Simon and Schuster, as per Her Hininess' instructions.

Nothing but hagiography will get past the censors, I predict. Besides, you wouldn't want to hurt the feelings of people who believe Living History, do you?.........

It takes a Villiage Idiot....

Someone I know did, as I understand it, as follows:

IF she wants us to actually believe her history--SHE SHOULD ALLOW PUBLICATION OF HER THESIS in College.

Her audacity at Communizing our Republic and then hoping the masses of 'idiots' will believe her lies as she sets herself up to grasp at yet more power in the Presidency--is mind boggling.

But then, nothing should shock me about a woman who'd decorate and/or permit or order the decoration a White House Christmas tree with embarrassingly lewd ornaments.

But even that holds no candle to her support of the Black Panthers and selling extremely important defense secrets to China for personal gain.

Nor to the prevention in 2,000 of the vast majority of Military personnel from voting or their votes from reaching registrars in time.

Thankfully, God has her number and will emphatically dial it in HIS time.

They related that the system seemed to accept it but then it didn't show up when they tried to review it in the normal list of such.

I guess someone must be screening them???

So dishonorable!

Ah well, no surprises there!

I don't think broomstick is the device of choice.

I think the toilet would be more appropriate.

First the deposit.

Then the flush.

I think it's routine with such . . . substances.
