I recently saw a Canadian documentary on the Iranian Hostage Crisis and several of the hostages interviewed mentioned one of their own collaborating with the militant students (i.e. selling out the CIA operative, giving up info on the Marines, etc.). This was mentioned in the book "444 Days" which I read too long ago for my feeble brain to remember. Can anyone provide any further info? Details?? TIA.
"The militants did put one hostage in front of a TV camera to make a bizarre, prolonged "confession." Army Staff Sergeant Joseph Subic Jr. thanked the militants for being "more our servants than our captors... They give us magazines, cards and good food. They even do our washing." Then he accused the U.S. embassy of engaging in espionage. He also claimed that an officer had discussed a military coup against the Khomeini regime with a CIA man and some Iranian officers. U.S. officials in Washington dismissed Subic's charges. "

Watch out- he may be coming to a town near you.
Also fired from a third Police Department where he was second in command as well as a private retail security position.
The FDLE investigation may reveal his character - which everyone here seems to have known for years.

The girlfriend is a 19 year old from Virgina he met online. He then had an affair with her while attending the FBI academy on the dime of the Town of White Springs. Then he had the gall to bring her into his marital home under the lie that she was providing child care over the summer. He put her on his insurance because he got her pregnant.
I wonder how many other young girls have fallen victim to his advances.
Damn. I almost lost a keyboard when I clicked on that last link.
I cant say it doesnt fit the man I knew. He had an affair while a police chief elsewhere.
It does look like his wife has filed for a divorce in another county. And quite frankly, I feel sorry for her. I have a feeling she doesnt know the entire story behind his past.
Its not going to be hard to show intent when you have two charges and lots of paper to back things up.
He could lose his position with the reserve if he is convicted.
Sounds like he's out of uniform once again.
Was his affair with the same one that filed sexual harrassment charges against him when he was Chief of Williston?
I cant answer that for sure and I dont know she filed charges.
How did you know about Williston?
That's kinda like saying "What do you have against John Wilkes Booth BESIDES that incident in Ford's Theater."
Booth was a bad actor.
He was not a Marine Sgt, he was an Army Sgt.
Are we talking about the same Joe Subic here. He would be about 50 years old now.
The Joe Subic I knew was a good SGT.
Perhaps we should all get all the facts before we react. Something political went on and has yet to be divulged.
Why do you people dwell on this issue?
Give it a rest and get on with you lives. You do not have all the facts but you react to only what you read.
I would say that you are only doing something to counter battery what you have not accomplished with your own life.

Yes it would be the same Joe Subic. However, there were no politics involved here. He put a teenager on his work insurance policy after he was told he could not by the insurance company. He, a 50 year OLD man, seduced and got a 19 year old child pregnant. Besides the fact that he had a wife and children, this is perversion----not politics.
If he was your friend, there was something he wanted from you. He does nothing for anyone unless it is in his own interest.
Let's lay it out for you.
You seem to be the only person who has "facts". What is your data and where did it come from?
His name is familiar. I worked in White Springs for a little while. It’s a small rural town in North Central Florida. If the voters in the town new what a weasel he was I doubt he’d be employed there.
What a difference 27 years makes!!!

I’ve seen quite a few FReepers comment on the character, or lack thereof, of Subic. You obviously know him or you are him.
