You're welcome. Did you see Greta's show last night? Three of Laci's friends were on and they comfirmed that they did, in fact, meet with Amber. Do you think FOX bought their own copy of the Enquirer, or did they just read Rickamorti's update?

I heard it was fairly common also, when it happened to me during my 2nd pregnancy. It didn't happen the first time. The medical advice was to stay off my feet, elevate them if possible and get rest, with lots of fluids. I was extremely tired all the time, and my balance was off.. the swelling went up to my calves. It was awful.

Which ones are the Mitchells? There was a woman on Greta last night who said she saw the "mysterious van" and called the police about it. She was pretty nervous and I don't expect she'd hold up very well under cross-examination (by the prosecution).

Not only did she have swollen ankles on December 14th on, she was having trouble breathing!! There is NO way she went for a walk.!

I was thinking that also when Laci's friends were on Greta talking about her ankles... and how it is unlikely if she went for a walk she probably wouldn't have made it down that trail they kept searching in the beginning.

Didn't I read that the two had escaped from prison and were caught a week or so after Alice Donovan had disappeared?

Last I remember one of the convicts said the other convict had killed Alice and left her body at such and such a place, but the authorities never found the body there.

I haven't been back to the thread in such a long time so my question is:
DID THEY EVER FIND ALICE's BODY?

Oh, I am SO mad at myself for missing MYSTERY WOMAN on Greta!!

The Mitchells were the first alleged eyewitnesses to Laci's having gone for a walk the morning of Dec. 24. They are a very elderly couple, especially Mrs. Mitchell, who I believe is in her 80's. Mr. Mitchell was apparently a multi-term city councilman in either Modesto or Fresno, but that was some time ago.

Mrs. Mitchell said, "I was recovering from my broken hip and I was standing at my sink washing dishes. The sun had come out and so had the dog-walkers. I saw this lady, and I said to my husband, 'Look, Bill! There's the lady with the Golden Retriever!'" [not an exact quote]

A lady in her 80's who's recovering from a broken hip--and she's "standing at the sink washing dishes"? Yeah, okay.

Mr. Mitchell said on TV that the way he "knew" it was 10-ish in the morning was b/c he'd been in his chair checking out the current football games. Well, turns out there were NO football games televised on Dec. 24. No pro. No college. Zip. Zero. Nada.

And these people's lives are so, um, sedate, that one of them gets all excited about seeing "the lady with the Golden Retriever" and she exclaims about it, and the other one leaps up from his chair to look at this amazing sight? Yeah. Okay.

Wow, I didn't know that Vel. I think Amber may just turn out to be really crucial to this case and people who have doubts about her "past actions", just may end up liking her. If your young enough to be wearing braces on your teeth, your certainly young enough to make some stupid decisions!!

As I'm sure you know... eyewitness accounts are notoriously wrong. Not intentionally, for the most part. Just wrong. So the Mitchell's comments don't hold much water for me - especially being in their 80's. All this excitement, as you pointed out, over the amazing sight of a woman walking a dog?

(Which I've heard also has been pointed out that it could have been another date, earlier than 12/24 - when the Laci-lookalike, also pregnant in Oct or Nov was walking HER golden retriever.) I'd hazard a guess Mr Mitchell was watching football on Thanksgiving or even earlier and saw that woman, not Laci. Or even saw Laci, just not that day.

I didn't have braces until I was 28! LOL. Past actions will bite you in the rear and that's nobody's fault but her own. Her present actions appear brave and admirable to me, thusfar.

I'm glad you pointed out that there have been some successful attacks on eyewitness accounts, as well as on circumstantial evidence. People who pooh-pooh circumstantial evidence as not being good enough need to remember that any kind of evidence can be attacked.

The strangest thing about it is, often TRUE evidence will survive all the attacks made on it, lol!

OMG LOL - I guess ya can get braces after 14!! I agree, past mistakes or bad actions or whatever, WILL usually come back to haunt one but with respect to THIS trial, I don't see that it is going to be relevant to the time she knew Snotty. Their relationship was only 5 weeks. You'd think it was 5 years by the news.
