Sorry to be a critic but, you should study more of weird Al Yankovic's parodies because that guy really knows how to turn a phrase.

Wierd Al's phrases are intended to be "non-sensical" and appeal to a wide variety of listeners therefore he can be more free with the phrases and just be down right "goofy".

Mud's parodies, on the other hand, have a direct & specific audiance. One with a political mind set and most generally of above average intelligence. They must stick to the issues to accomplish the goals.

One of the first rules of writing (which I believe absolutely applies to music/lyrics as well) is know who your audiance is before you write it. ;o)

Weird Al is awesome, but he's going for Top 40/broad appeal....Mud's going for appeal to the conservatives...he could careless about Top 40. :o) Same with the rest of us in here that "FReep" songs...they must stay true to the rythym of the original song, make sense and expose the issues.

Please give me an example of one of Weird Al's turnin' of a phrase that so outclasses my stuff, my FRiend...I'm sincerely interested in understanding what you believe my stuff if missing, other than the musical backdrop.
