This pretty much sums it up on why Democrats continue to fail at bring down W and why 2004 is pretty much his.

Thanks for all the background, I wasn't aware of some of those nasty attempts...
Liberals can be so vile :-(

Actually, I'd even forgotten about those incidents until lately; when I read this thread, then it came back to me. I don't remember all the details, of course, but just the 'framework'. Apparently, the "DUers" didn't remember either did they? (giggle)I'd like to see them try! (smile)They'll feel the wrath of "Barbara" if they do! She was just itching to get at them during the campaign, and Bush Sr. had to smooth her down a few times. She's quite a pistol, isn't she?
They'd also get a 'attitude adjustment' from a lot of people, even many Dems. if they try that this time around! The only thing that gets me; is having to go through all of that nastiness and inuendo again!
I don't know if you've read "John Adams", by David McCullough(sp?)yet; but JA himself addressed this type of situation in one of his writings in the book. I don't remember the exact quote. But he said something about not wanting to see too-frequent elections, because for one thing, it seemed to bring out the worst in people(boy, was he ever spot-on in what is happening in recent elections, as well as in his own time!). I guess they could only dread it, and hope it wouldn't happen(but did, anyway!).
This is changing the subject just a little, but they studied different types of government in the world in their own time, and in the past; in order to shape the one they hoped to get here. They studied various democratic republics, monarchies, and parliamentary systems.
And even I didn't know that there were more than a few constitutional, or democratic monarchies even in other times, as well as the republics, like Rome (before it became an empire). Switzerland, and the Basque country had either democratic republics or commonwealths.

All they have to do is LOOK IN THE MIRROR!!! That is a fact.
NASCAR...everything else is just a game!
Another fact!
