Thanks.

I've received similiar bogus emails from Best Buy - something about an order and they need you verify all of our information. I reported it to Ebay and Best Buy has something about this fraud on their website.

It has gotten to the point where I have heard about so many scams, frauds, phony e-mails etc. concerning on-line auction sites that I have decided that I will not do business using any of them. They have some real problems and they do not seem to be addressing them well. The whole thing seems to have turned into a playground for scam artists and professional frauds. As a result I am not going to take advantage of on-line auctions at this time.

One of our local talk show hosts replied to the eBay scam. I can't imagine what was in his mind. Surely these scams have been around long enough for people be wary. And, if you are enough of a net user to be using eBay frequently, as he was, you should certainly be thinking 'scam' anytime someone sends you an email asking for personal information.

An elderly friend just got defrauded by person(s) posing as Visa special investigators. Based out of Toronto.
They said they were hot on the trail of fraudulent activity.

Beware.
