White House denies role in hunt for Texas Democrats

WASHINGTON (CNN ) -- Bush administration officials did not authorize the use of federal funds to help Texas Rangers look for state Democrats who walked out of the Texas Capitol last month over a redistricting dispute, and no Bush officials were involved in that search, the White House press secretary said Monday.

This story getting "legs" has absolutely amazed me. I don't know how the press thinks they can speak of these Demos as "courageous" like I've seen them on ABCNBCCBS being chased by "big government dirty tricks" and keep a straight face.
