I have always thought that those "Pirates of the Caribbean" were much too happy to bee in their own company.

"Disney execs, without publicly endorsing Gay Days, have bent over backwards..." Are they sure they don't mean frontwards?

On a positive note, Disney's Might Ducks lost Game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals last night, after Eisner himself promised that he would have a victory parade for the team after they won the series.

The really nasty thing about this "unofficial" relationship is that thousands of uninformed, unsuspecting families -- and by that I mean the traditional hetero version, of course -- spend thousands to travel to the Orlando area and spend 2+ days at the resort only to find out that the place has been turned over to to a decidedly un-G-rated crowd.

1. They homosexuals intentionally picked the first weekend after school lets out and many familiys go to the parks.
2. Disney must warn families when this event is going to happen.
3. Disney has absolute control over the mouse ear logo. The fact that disney does not send a copyright cease and desist letter is not passive agreeemnt it is active agreement. It can and should be used to break their copyright.
4. 1300000 is absurd, if 110000 people are in the magic kingdom they close the park to ne visitors. Sounds like someone is exagerating again (10% vs 1%)

What a joke the tragic kingdom has become.
Everyone who is concerned about the nazi homesexual agenda has boycotted Dismal-land.

I used to take my kids to Disneyland years ago. When the "gay" love affair began with Eisner, I stopped taking the Disney diversion. I discuss the homosexual promotion with any co-worker who has expressed interest in a family vacation including Disneyland. Its not unusual, then, for an alteration to ensue involving a different amusement park.
No, it's not that there is anything wrong with the homosexual, alternate lifestyle.
I just don't think many families want to cater to it. We may want to sit back and see if 1-3% of the population will keep faerieland open.

I went to the website and didn't see the Disney logo or any mouse ears. The 130,000 figure is not for one day, but for 7 days.

Disney World is not the only theme park that totes "Gay Days."
Marriott theme parks have an official 'gay day' too. Check "Gay Days Marriott" on your search engine and see for yourself. Where is the boycott on Marriott?
To: stars & stripes forever
I didn't know Marriot had any theme parks.
To: ZGuy
Maybe a freeper can help out.....Is there a 'Police Beat' or some type of listing for Disney? Do they even have their own police? Might the Orlando paper cover it?
I'm interested in comparing the happenings during the 'Gay Days' vs what goes on during a 'normal' week. We've heard plenty of anecdotal stuff here at FR; it would be good to see it backed up.

What is a Marriott Theme Park?
I did a Google search and didn't see anything but gay sites.
I don't want to go there again.

A fair point, though I don't know that Marriott hotels have "theme parks" -- I see from the search that they've got some located close to gay beaches and such, though.
Disney has, since its inception, been all about families and children. This catering to gays is diammetrically opposed to that foundation, its (formerly) core values, and its primary clientele. That earns the boycott.
Now in the meantime, I don't understand the Marriott chain's embrace of gay special, either: it kinda flies in the face of the corporate association with Mormonism, eh?

I do not pay for any entertainment produce by Disney and have not stayed at a Marriott in years. However, I managed to see the new flick 'Searching for Nemo' or whatever it is called in a big multiplex type complex. My view was free courtesy of the Disney gay day crowd. Just doing my bit to influence freedom of expression in the 'Tragic Kingdom' whenever possible.

School Defends Trip Delay to Avoid Gay Days Festival (FL)
(an excerpt from an article printed in the Des Moines Register posted on the GLSEN web site)
"... School Principal Todd Wolverton said school officials realized one month ago that the Orlando trip for 70 Creston band students would coincide with the annual Gay Days celebration scheduled for May 28 through June 3. The district's travel agent assured school officials the festival was fairly small, Wolverton said...
It was only last week, he said, that school officials realized Gay Days is expected to attract 100,000 or more adults for what organizers call "America's biggest gay and lesbian vacation experience." At that point, school administrators decided to postpone the band's three-day trip to Orlando so that it would begin June 3, the last day of the festival.
"From the school's standpoint, this has nothing to do with the sexual orientation of the group of people who will be there," Wolverton said. "It didn't make one bit of difference what the nature of the group was. We did not move this trip because of the fact that it's Gay Days 2002. We moved this trip because of the fact that there would be 100,000-plus adults partying down there in some of the same areas where we were going to have our kids."
Wolverton said he would have made the same decision had there been any other sort of large festival planned for that many adults..."
An excerpt of GLSEN's response posted on their web site:
GLSEN Expresses Concern as Iowa School Postpones Disney Trip Due to "Gay Days"
"The leading national organization working to end anti-gay discrimination and harassment in Americas schools today expressed concern over the decision of Creston High School officials in Creston, Iowa, to postpone a band trip to Orlando that was to coincide with the citys Gay Days festival. The Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network, or GLSEN, said the decision and resulting controversy may further isolate lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) students in local schools.
"This decision reinforces harmful stereotypes, and sends a devastating message to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender students and their supporters involved in the band program, school and community," stated GLSEN Executive Director Kevin Jennings. "Regardless of motive, the school has sent a message that may lead some to conclude that gay is bad - a message with dangerous and unacceptable consequences in school."...."
The school officials explained it clearly -- they didn't want any of their students going on any trip that would put the kids in an environment with an extremely large group of partying adults. Yet GLSEN whines about decisions that reinforce harmful stereotypes, and sends devastating messages.
And they say it's not about access to kids....

I always thought the two were the same entity. They are always located in close proximaty...sort of like WalMart and McDonalds....

Well, theme park or not, I won't go to Marriott resorts. As for the Disney Theme parks, we can't afford to go there and even id we could, we get a better value going to Six Flags. Why spend big bucks to make it to Florida, spend huge amounts on hotel rooms, chinzy, overpriced Disney merchandise and deal with the humidity?
I stay with family in Cleveland and get the water park, kids Warner Bros world (like toon town), theme park AND what used to be Sea World for one price??
