Bush cannot come out and say "good job, do it again" but he should think of somethgn better to say than this.
Isreal is justified in their attack because hamas rejected the call for peace and end to violence. If you neighbor down the street is plotting to kill you, and building bombs and acquiring weapons and actually sending people to your house to do it, what do you do? sit there?

I"m "deeply troubled" that President Bush is "deeply troubled" over this. I say crack open a Pepsi, sitback, and watch the Irsael teach the world on how to truly take care of terrorists. Don't be nag. Just sitback and watch Yasser squirm like the worm that he is.

President Bush, what are you doing? Abbas is a puppet for Arafat--the man who had to be replaced before "the road map" could move forward. Despite his overtures of peace, Hamas has said they will not abide by any agreements and will only be satisfied with Israel's total destruction. Is "the road map" so important (like Clinton's legacy) that Israel can no longer defend herself against her sworn enemies? If Abbas is truly against terrorism, then he should not be upset by this attack. I don't expect him to praise it, but he shouldn't denounce it either. Hamas told him to pound sand on peace.
That Abbas calls this a criminal attack should be a wake up call to our middle east diplomats who appear to be asleep at the wheel.

With all the good technology out there, why are the Israeli's still blowing stuff up? If they could start using some nice food additives, sound wave devices, accidents in the home, killer prostitutes, and such, things would go a lot better for self defense.
But I guess then Hamas would just blow themselves up to still keep territory sentiment at a high insanity level? A day without a jew delivering some injustice toward a Palestinian is like a day without sunshine.

Bush 'Deeply Troubled' by Israeli Strike But not by the 4 Israelis killed? Which triggered the strike?
Remarkable!
Strange, even.

warning that such a strike "does not contribute to the security of Israel." .............
WANNA BET!!! Matter of fact Israel killed a Hizbuallah big shot back in 1989 with a helicopter rocket to his car, and it greatly changed events

President Bush scolded Israel on Tuesday for a helicopter attack on a senior Hamas leader that killed a bystander and a bodyguard, warning that such a strike "does not contribute to the security of Israel." Bush then said, don't miss next time...

There is a complicated game afoot here, something along the lines of good cop / bad cop.
It would be politically unwise at this time for the President to laugh out loud about the Pallies getting their a$$es kicked again.
IMHO, the game GW is up to involves giving the enemies every possible opportunity to redeem themselves by behaving as civilized people, which he knows (as does everyone else involved) they will not.
And once the olive branch has been refused, burned and broken one too many times, we will be justified (by world opinion) in allowing Israel to finish them off once and for all.
It's the old game of giving one's adversaries just enough rope to hang themselves.
If I'm wrong, then god help us all.

I'm deeply troubled that we are such hipocrites with Israel. Even with the flaming liberals we have in this country, one terrorist attack gave the hawks enough political muscle to "do" Afganistan and Iraq. But when Israel, who has had the equivalent of 5-10 9-11's goes after a little payback the Jew hating world criticizes them.

Bush should be more disturbed that Abbas is on record being unwilling to use force against the Pal terrorists. That is the real impediment to the Roadmap. The Pals still want to drive the Jews into the sea, and everything they do is a play for more time. Don't let this morph into a typical Dem peace plan, Mr. Bush.

President Bush scolded Israel on Tuesday for a helicopter attack on a senior Hamas leader that killed a bystander and a bodyguard, warning that such a strike "does not contribute to the security of Israel." I agree. Next time please hit the actual target. :) In all seriousness, what is Israel supposed to do instead? Hamas has made crystal clear for years its views that nothing less than the total destruction of Israel will satisfy it. Abbas is obviously powerless to control Hamas or the other terrorist organizations even if he really wanted to. So that leaves the IDF as the only viable alternative.

President Bush scolded Israel on Tuesday for a helicopter attack on a senior Hamas leader that killed a bystander and a bodyguard, warning that such a strike "does not contribute to the security of Israel." Try turning it around: Prime Minister Sharon scolded the US on Tuesday for a helicopter attack on a senior Al Qaeda leader that killed a bystander and a bodyguard, warning that such a strike "does not contribute to the security of The United States.
What the heck is the White House thinking?
