Did Bill Press get the boot from Radio Station WMAL (Washington DC)?

Just curious. My biggest peeve about WMAL's morning-drive show was that it included Bill Press (my other peeve is gun-grabber Charlie Warren's evening show, but that's another issue).
Since I try to enjoy my breakfast and not arrive at the office in a sour political mood, I've been avoiding the program, checking back from time-to-time to see if he'd called in sick or gone on vacation. Then last week I started hearing "guest host" Fred Grandy on the show. Most telling of all, Bill's no longer listed on WMAL's web page.
Did I miss something? Hey, not that I'm complaining!

Bill Press and Charlie Warren are kaput at WMAL. Grandy is now co-host with Andy Parks. Jane Norris now has Charlie Warren's time slot. Liberal pukes fail at talk radio always. This is perfect evidence that market forces drive the results of a program. Low Ratings = No Show

Bill Press failed in LA a few years back, then Cuomo, etc. Press used to open his show with the National Anthem.....trying to sound patriotic.

Bill Press and Charlie Warren are kaput at WMAL Glad to hear that. I've been a WMAL listener for over 20 years, since the days of Harden and Weaver. Charlie Warren used to be enjoyable until he got political a few years back; when he sticks to talking about cars, hiking and camping he's great.

I read Bill Press's new book, and after, in the first few chapters, he admitted to lying, and will continue to lie because lying is okay, he called it spin, he made me so sick I took his book back to the library and asked them to make sure it nevers goes in the children's section. I also asked them to remove it from the adult section as well, but they said something about freedom of speech. I asked them about freedom to lie and they seemed to take offence to that. They, after all, have a family facility and would never do anything to harm the family. Yeah, right!

Maybe Bill Press can team up with Al Franken in that new, liberal radio talk show that's supposed to be coming out soon...

I thought I heard Warren late Friday night (06/06)? I'm glad Press is gone, but I never listened to Warren long enough to hear him opine on anything. I have a friend that stopped listening to Rush because WMAL put Press on the morning show. I guess Rush has regained a listener.

I have wondered how a liberal network could possibly keep their sponsors. Since their commentators are admitted and known liars, how could the public consider buying something these charlatans would hawk. If you can't believe them for show purposes, how can you trust them with words concerning the products paying their bill? Would you buy from a liar? The boat sailed yesterday, and I wasn't on it.

Charlie Warren's been on WMAL for about 15 years now. Up until a couple of years ago, his program consisted of talks about cars (he's a former Detroit engineer), camping and mountain hiking. Then all of a sudden he started including all of these liberal political causes in his show. I used to joke with a friend of mine: "I wonder which gun-grabber Charlie's interviewing this week?" Shortly before last year's Million Mom March, you would have thought "The Charlie Warren Show" was a wholly paid subsidiary of The Brady Campaign. I remember a caller once making mention of "The Commie Mommies" and Charlie launched into a mad rant about the NRA.
I was listening to him this past Friday also, and was pleased to hear him chatting with someone who just wrote a hiking book. Maybe management read him the riot act.

My bad Warren is not gone. But Jane Norris splits some time with him. But I'm glad the puke Press is gone.

The "official" line is that he wanted to concentrate on his TV show.
I used to listen to the WMAL morning show every day. As soon as Bill Press showed up, my power switch went to "off." I can now listen to them again.
And, I don't necessarily mind the left-right pairing, but Bill Press was such a whiner that I don't see how anyone, left or right, could stand to listen to him.
It looks like Jane Norris is doing fill-in work at the moment, including a fill-in for Chris Core. I suspect WMAL management is looking for a new full-time partner for Andy Parks in the AM show and Jane will be history soon.

Email Andy and tell him you love the pairing of Grandy and Parks. He forwarded my email to the station manager who sent back a note. I'm trying to get them to switch and carry Batchelor and Alexander weeknights instead of Charlie Warren. Honestly, I'm not a fan of Jane Norris....as a supposed right winger she often sounds left of Fred Grandy...and he's a moderate.

I nominate Kristinn. But then, I am not unbiased.

My daughter will be happy that Press is gone. Mom won't be yelling at the radio on the ride to school anymore (I hope).

Great idea, and I just sent off an e-mail to Andy along those lines exactly, including airing B&A at the normal time.
I listen to B&A from WABC as they have a good signal into the Northern Virginia area most evenings. But WABC's sports programming has cut into their time recently.

B & A was on in Charlie Warren's spot just tonight! Maybe they're trying it out for fit?

My daughter will be happy that Press is gone. Mom won't be yelling at the radio on the ride to school anymore (I hope). We're obviously doing the same drive routine...my daughter had been begging me to change the channel to anything but Press....270 south in the AM felt like sensory overload with Press and Norris. I really like Andy Parks, and have been working on changing his anti-NRA stance. Although he is pro-2nd, he's bought into too much of the media hype regarding the necessity of registration.

Did anyone hear Hitlery's "interview" on WMAL this morning? Just heard a clip where the Red Queen reiterates her belief in the existence of a vast right wing, and its propensity to engage in the politics of personal destruction.
The Red Queen truly needs to change her song sheet, the tune she's singing is old and tired now.

Did anyone hear Hitlery's "interview" on WMAL this morning? I dove into the Metrorail station just before Her Heinousness was to ooze onto the airwaves. However, I did enjoy Fred Grandy's call for suggested questions. One of the better ones was "Hey, Senator, who hired Craig Livingstone? Hopefully you remember now!" :-)
