Simply one old socialist praising another old socialist.
They stick together.

Do you pretend to consider the views
of the Soviet leader at the time the wall came down
on the importance of JPII in the fall of the soviet empire
to be unimportant?

It has nothing to do with Orthodox anything. The Pope was helpful as much as he could but what brought down communisim was not the actions of the Vatican--on a list of top 10 things that did in the Eastern Bloc the influence of the Pope or the Vatican does not even make it on the list.
Proof of this is that the former Polish communists -reformed under a new name and party platform - ousted Solidarity and are in power now.

I don't pretend at all. I am just not as gullible as some. But, I also don't practice idolatry and false worship, so maybe that explains the gullible part, I don't know.

Didn't get excited about Gorbasms then, don't get excited about them now.
And speaking about PBS, please list all the references to specific acts of Karol Wotyla requiring personal courage before his papacy, and name the witnesses to those - you know, the resistance cells he led, messages he carried loud denunciations of the policies of his government, that sort of thing.
Or is it that he's got a good spin machine?

Oh, way more than stick together. Way more. Easy to find, do a search on "Pope+gorbachev". Makes you sick!
To: Chancellor Palpatine
Good old palpy - President Bush heaps tremendous and sweeping praise upon the Pope and it gets under your collar.

btgw, perhaps if bothered to go to the link I posted you would find that your question is wholly a non-sequitur as regards anything I have posted. I even pointed this out in the preface to the link. Why can't respond to what is posted?
To: RedBloodedAmerican
Such a search produces crapola from "scholars" with your mindset, which you then use to justify your spew. Talk about spin!
To: RedBloodedAmerican
There is nothing to repsond to.
You are baiting about a contradiction that does not exist.
I agree with post #3.
