And why is this one for me? The Libertarians don't know that we're a Republic any more than the Democrats or Republicans (who really should know what a Republic is) do.
All three of those political parties think America is a damned Democracy!
Give me a Ron Paul, no matter the association, who is unequivocal in the matter.
A Republic, Not a Democracy
Throughout the presidential election controversy, we have been bombarded with references to our sacred "democracy." Television and radio shows have been inundated with politicians worried about the "will of the people" being thwarted by the courts. Solemn warnings have been issued concerning the legitimacy of the presidency and the effects on our "democratic system" if the eventual winner did not receive the most popular votes. "I'm really in love with our democracy," one presidential candidate gushed to a reporter. Apparently, the United States at some point become a stealth democracy at the behest of news directors and politicians.

The problem, of course, is that our country is not a democracy. Our nation was founded as a constitutionally limited republic, as any grammar school child knew just a few decades ago (remember the Pledge of Allegiance: "and to the Republic for which it stands"...?). The Founding Fathers were concerned with liberty, not democracy. In fact, the word democracy does not appear in the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution. On the contrary, Article IV, section 4 of the Constitution is quite clear: "The United States shall guarantee to every state in this Union a Republican Form of Government (emphasis added). The emphasis on democracy in our modern political discourse has no historical or constitutional basis.

A quote (or more accurately a comment/critique on the book) on the back cover of a book suddenly makes the man a "good friend" of "uber socialist elitist Walter Cronkite".

I've seen Judge Gray on the talking head shows a few times. Seems like a good man. Well informed on issues and honest. Be a welcome change from what's been inhabiting the WH for the last century, I'll vote for the man if Ron Paul doesn't run.

I've been a Republican voter for over forty years. The failure of the GOP to stand up for the Constitution on this issue has me ready to bolt the party.

I too have come to that conclusion. We may not win elections, but we'll have the peace of mind of knowing that we supported the Constitution to the end.

Bush should have beaten Gore by a landslide. That he didn't shows that the GOP has alienated too many voters.

It's not about the economy. It's about out of control government. The Republican Party continues to move to the left and refuses to listen to any point of view other than the extremists who have total control of the party.

If more of us start supporting people like Judge Gray maybe the party will get the message. If not, it won't matter which party is in power because they will be the same.
