I think Sadaam had to go. And I'm glad we got him out.
BUT:
If GWB & Co did not tell the truth about WMD then they lied blatantly -- just as the Clintons lied (and lie) blatantly.
We can't be going after the Clintons for being liars then try to find all kinds of reasons and justifications if GWB...let's say it flatly...liked to the Congress, American people, and Blair to justify going in.
Sorry. And if we try to pretend it did not matter then whatever the Democrats do in the future (or have done in the past) is OK...because it would indicate there is no moral or ethical differences between the two parties.
The SAME STANDARDS must be applied to ALL.
Again, I was a war supporter and am glad Sadaam is gone.
But I don't like being lied to by my government on an issue like this -- and am hoping that is NOT what happened.

Is an airliner hijacked by murderous religious zeolots considered a WMD?

The most likely scenario is that Cheney and people like Perle made sure the information that Bush got led him to the conclusion they wanted him to reach. Like the uranium from Africa statement in the SOU speech-- Bush wouldn't have purposefully set himself up to look so foolish; someone else put that in there hoping the public wouldn't really notice when it was debunked. Reagan got foreign affairs info that was unreliable, too, on things like Nicaragua, and was lead to believe things as his advisors wanted him to believe. The problem is that it makes the president look bad even though it's not his fault, so the president can't do a damn thing about it.

Saddam himself in his reports to the UN listed his weapons of mass destruction, amounts etc. It is possible that Saddam was leading us on. But why? All he had to do was fess up and he'd still be there. President Bush would not lie to the Country, nor would be present facts he knew to be false. Saddam did gass the Kurds, and all those mass graves are testimony to his murderous regime. It is possible that weaponry was taken out of the country, and is
very likely what happened. Suggsting that this President is lying to us is something I expect of Dean, but not from a conservative republican. You can count on the fact that this President is an honest man, whose word is his bond.

Did it ever occur to you that maybe the Democrats are lying NOW about claiming that there wasn't enough evidence?

They surely seemed very convinced before.

Check out this thread with links to articles about proof of WMD and statements of Democrats themselves, including Clinton and Daschle showing they are convinced by the evidence about Iraq's WMD.
