I only know about the situation in the Hubei province, now that I'm back in the US. I've got contacts there in the gov, the countryside, doctors, nurses, police and college students, and they are all reporting that where they are, things are much better.
I get sniffs from other places, and I'd say there is still good reason to question Beijing's numbers, and the countryside outside Beijing is still a bit of a mystery. I think, thankfully, that things are a bit better, but that might very well be because of the time of year, and I'd be holding my breath when winter comes.
I'll be going back soon, and what I find out, I'll post.
