Well, so was Christianity's, and for a longer period than Islam has been in existance (Roman Empire, Holy Roman Empire, monarchic nation-states). If Christianity made the transition successfully, there is no absolute reason that Islam cannot. Time will tell.

The difference was that Christianity was corrected when the Bible hit the printing press and the gig was up for those who were using their version of the religion as an excuse to rule. The Koran however is convincing Moslems to leave the religion. You should try reading it some times, it reads like the ramblings of a drunken madman.

There's a difference, Christianity, like the other non-Islamic religions is based on peace, Islam is NOT, hence it can't make any transition without losing its entire meaning..
