I understand that this whole business has been very hard on the both of them. They are going to St. Barts for a romantic, long weekend, to recover.

I certainly hope that this doesn't mean that the NYT will change it's brave campaign to get women into that Atlanta club. That has been so wonderful and Im sure will earn the NYT another Pulitzer.

As for replacements, I also understand that there are a couple of up-and-comers at Pravda and that Punch might be instructed to take one of them.

The Pravda guy will have to get the approval of Koffi Anan over at the UN (the NYT IS sort of the PR department of the UN), but that is believed to be just a formality.

However, should the objective be to bring the NYT up to comtemporary ethical standards there are a couple of young folks at the National Enquirer who could do the job. Unfortunately, neither is a fairy, a key diversity and office party requirement of the NYT.

My local paper, the ORANGE COUNTY (CA) REGISTER, ran a correction of Dowd's infamous "ellipsis" column earlier this week, where she made it appear as though the President had said something with a completely different meaning than he'd actually said, but as far as I know the NYT has yet to do the same thing!

A few days before the Blair relevation, the Sacramento Bee hired a Black editor from the NYT's to be the SacBee Ombudsman. They have since had an almost total blackout of the NYT story. Wonder what they will say tomorrow?

The SacBee is a cheap West Coast Clone of the NY Slimes.

It is amazing how they have spiked most of the NY Slimes news.

Spiking news doesn't work anymore with Fox News, the internet, Free Republic, conservative talk radio and station 1530 in Sacramento. The real news gets out, and it obvious when a left wing fish wrap like the BEE spikes the news.
