The Clinton spin machine drones on.

The media are reporting today that in her new book, Living History, Hillary Clinton claims she believed Bill's denials of an affair with Monica Lewinsky for some six months. Not until the weekend before his August 17, 1998, grand-jury testimony, when he confessed to her, did she accept the truth.

Hillary writes:

I could hardly breathe. Gulping for air, I started crying and yelling at him, 'What do you mean? What are you saying? Why did you lie to me? I was furious and getting more so by the second. He just stood there saying over and over again, "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I was trying to protect you and Chelsea."

It was once said of Hillary that she was one of the 100 smartest lawyers in America. Can she actually be this dumb? I think not. This is just the latest in her unending line of deceptions. Everyone knows that Bill Clinton is a serial philanderer — at best. In fact, here's some of what Hillary — and the rest of the world — knew about Bill before her husband's August 15, 1998, confession.

Gennifer Flowers: excerpt from January 27, 1992, press conference

"Yes, I was Bill Clinton's lover for 12 years." [I lied] "to protect him....The truth is I loved him. Now he tells me to deny it. Well, I'm sick of all the deceits, and I'm sick of all the lies."

Paula Jones: excerpts from May 6, 1994, complaint in Jones vs. Clinton & Ferguson

Count 20. "[After being escorted to a hotel suite where she was left alone with then-Governor Clinton, Clinton said to Jones] 'I love the way your hair flows down your back' and 'I love your curves.' While saying these things, Clinton put his hand on Plaintiff's leg and started sliding it toward the hem of Plaintiff's culottes. Clinton also bent down to attempt to kiss Jones on the neck."

Count 21. "Jones exclaimed, 'What are you doing?' and escaped from Clinton's physical proximity by walking away from him. Jones tried to distract Clinton by chatting with him about his wife. Jones later took a seat at the end of the sofa nearest the door. Clinton asked Jones: 'Are you married?' She responded that she had a regular boyfriend. Clinton then approached the sofa and as he sat down he lowered his trousers and underwear exposing his erect penis and asked Jones to 'kiss it.'

Kathleen Wiley: excerpts from March 15, 1998, on CBS's 60 Minutes

"Then [Bill Clinton] kissed me on my mouth and pulled me closer to him. And ... I remember thinking...'what in the world is he doing?' he touched my breasts with his hand ... and he whispered ... 'I've wanted to do this ever since I laid eyes on you.' And ... then he took my hand, and he put it on him. And, that's when I pushed away from him and ... decided it was time to get out of there."

"... When I think back on it, it was kind of like I was watching it in slow motion ... And, at the same time ... I thought, 'Well, maybe I ought to just give him a good slap across the face.' And then I thought, 'Well, I don't think you can slap the President of the United States."'

Hillary knew then, and she knows now, that Bill's a satyr. Indeed, Hillary was Bill's top damage-control strategist. It will be interesting to see if Hillary's book makes it into the fiction section of the nation's bookstores, where it belongs.

Spin works both ways. Think about it, even if she really did not know (which I am sure it is a lie), what kind of political leader does that prove her be? I mean, wow, the whole world knew about the Lewinsky affair except for her? Reminds me of the French and the Germans' inability to see the threat that Iraq was to us by not seeing the forrest for the trees.
If that woman (Hellary) is that stupid, it makes you wonder how she dare think she could manage anything in this country. I can just hear it now if she were ever a president (horrified here), and someone dropped a nuke on us, "I just don't understand why they did that, I never saw it coming, even though they already bombed us", Jeesh.

I'm just curious, and apologize if this thought has been discussed/discredited on another thread related to Mrs. Clinton's upcoming book, but... would it be worth considering going to bookstores and taking all the copies of Mrs. Clinton's book and scattering them in various sections of the store, behind other titles, where they will remain hidden and unsold?

How about setting up a rotation sale. Go into the store and buy all copies of the book. After 13 days (if the store has a 14 day return policy) return them for full credit. Send in your accomplice on day 14 and do the same thing. If everyone around the country did this, it would accomplish two things. Simon and Shuster would think sales were going through the roof and order a second printing, incurring huge costs to produce books that will never sell. And secondly, the books would be off the shelves for a period of time sufficient for the general public to get the juicy parts from other media outlets, and hence, less likely to buy them when the rotation is finished.

If Hillary Clinton truly believed that the Rapist Comrade Klinto had not had "improper relations" with Monica Lewinski until two days before he testified, then she is definitely too naive to be President and probably shouldn't hold any office - including Senator.

So what should be left alone is made into political witch-hunt and what should be legitimately made into political issue is covered up in jingoism.

Do you get the talking points via fax or just wait until the word of the week shows up in editorials in both the Wash Post and NY times? I have yet to find anyone who actually knew what jingoism meant until it was used by the NY Times (and amazingly simultaneously the WP) to discredit and malign:
The counter-protesters who supported not the war but the people who were in harms way
The talk show hosts (Glenn Beck, Hannity, Liddy et al) who supported these rallies
And the artists who wrote and performed stirring music to remind us of our national pride.

This is a classic example of how people like the Clintons can remain in the public eye. Even now, years later, after an impeachment, a contempt order, and a disbarmant - there are people trying to defend the actions of these people by casting blame on those who sought to maintain the integrity of the public trust.

For all of you on that side of the fence some simple questions: Who wrote this book? Who brought this subject BACK to the national stage? Who actually stands to gain from the publicity and book sales generated by the recycling of this story?

Hillary and Bill cannot be hurt further by this story. The whole world is aware of the details, and even those in the farthest reaches of the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy are honestly tired of the story. If it helps Hillary and/or Bill in any way it is a win for them. There is no backlash left, there is no farther to fall. To them this is like a bet after the house has already folded - even if you lose it's still a tie.

. . .mentioned this on earlier post. Makes me crazy that Fox News has been quoting the same excerpt all day; as if it were a 'revelation' when in fact is is verbatim; same story told a few years back; wish I could find it on internet or FR.

Rediculous hype and once again we get to play another version of the 'Emperor's New Clothes'.

Can anyone in the media just tell the truth of this book and her 'revelations'. . .her 'disclosures'. . .it is bound in a new wrapper; but still the same Hillary crappola.

OK..... just a bit of devil's advocate here. I'm not condoning anyone's behavior.
Hillary knew about Bill's affairs ages ago, probably during his 12 year relationship with Jenniffer Flowers.... probably with some before. Agreed?
She probably decided then that they were in this power game together, but their personal "marriage"/sexual relationship was dead now - or she would have given him an ultimatum way back then.
So..... he was cut off. The deal was he could do what he wanted, as long as he kept it "quiet' and didn't tell her, and it didn't upset THEIR plans for progressing up the power chain.
SHE, on the other hand, was still a young, interesting, probably vibrant young lady - who was not gonna put her sex life to bed (no pun intended).
So...... she started having affairs, but she kept them quieter than he did. AND...... from what I've heard (no source to give here), she did a bit of women/women experimentation.

So...... what's she to say now? Not much.

The REAL story will be when the man (if he isn't dead - no actual person like foster suggested), come out and tells HIS story of HIS affair with Hillary.

And that..... is my devil's advocate position.

And...... I believe it. Though the truth may never surface.

Read this carefully. What is Bill apologising for? Certainly it's not for getting a blow job, since not even he could construe a blow job as 'protection' for his wife and child.

So what is he apologising for? He's apologising because Hilliary is furious at him---not for getting a blow job from Monica--- for getting caught. Thus, the focus of the press and the pundits: "Did she know?" is totally irrelevant.

Hilliary has committed a major foo-pah at this point in her book, for this reveals clearly that she cares not if her husband was unfaithful but cares only that he escapes accountability.
