The only defense against a charge of libel and defamation in such a case would be that the assertion was the truth
Jamie has lots of money. Having her perceived as a male would lessen her box-office appeal, and thus her cash-flow. It would also have an impact on the value of her movies. Do you have the slightest doubt that her lawyers would be all over anybody making the assertion if it was untrue? Do you have the slightest doubt that movie studio lawyers would be all over anybody making the assertion?

We aren't talking about Tom Cruise, here. One only has to look at Ms. Curtis to see what gender she is. And she has been married to a man for at least two decades. She does not have to worry over such silliness, nor should she.
