MI Gov Granholm Proclaims June "Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Month"

Resolved, That I, Jennifer M. Granholm, Governor of the State of Michigan, do hereby proclaim June, 2003, as Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Month. I encourage all citizens to observe this month with appropriate programs, ceremonies and activities which celebrate our diversity and recognize the GLBT Americans whose many and varied contributions have enriched our lives in this state and in the nation.

Aren't transgenders the ones trapped in the body of the wrong sex?

No they are perverts that get surgically altered to look like the opposite sex. Since none can reproduce, they obviously never actually change gender, they just get to hang out in the wrong bathrooms and are now harder to detect when they are getting their thrills. To some people who you pee with is very important.

One famous example of a transgendered person (but not too many non-bio majors realize as being one) is Jamie Lee Curtis, who has XY chromosomes, but has lived all her life as a female.

My daughter succeeded in flooring me this evening when she mentioned that in her college bio class, the prof mentioned that Jamie Lee Curtis (currently starring in "Freaky Friday") is actually geneticly male, and suffers from a genetic abnormality that made her develop as a female. I HAD to check on it, and found she's standardly listed on multiple college biology sources as being an example of the condition.

I don't believe for a minute anyone chooses to be gay (or bisexual or straight).

Gee one of my friends was Gay for years, but chose to become Straight in Church. She says Jesus freed her. She told me the orientation argument is a lie. She said that most homosexuals are that way because of a lousy parent structure. How do you ignore the hundreds and hundreds of X-gays that have normal family lives now after detox in churchs?

I think you "do not believe for a minute," because you are excusing your actions, instead of taking action.

People are dealt the cards they're dealt for whatever reason, but people can't just turn off their sexual attractions. They can refrain from acting on them, but the initial sexual attraction is not within their control.

Are you blaming God for your homosexuality or your family life?

Have you ever been pissed at someone so much you want to choke the ever living sh*t out of them? How come Killing people is not an orientation, but a choice, if giving into your lusts is a oriention not a choice?

When are they going to excommunicate Granholm? If Maida hasn't the sense to do so, if he's just refraining because of politics, then he has NO business standing up for the Catholic Church and what it supposedly believes in.

As for homosexuals, I believe the CDC figures found that a homosexual male has an average lifespan of 41 years because of AIDS, murder, drug use, etc What's so attractive about a lifestyle that offers death? The only way homosexuals can propagate is to recruit. Their favorite recruitment centers are, tragically, or SCHOOLS. Some organized churches are the next line of defense and they're failing miserably.

You know, that's a good point. If they are going to do this why not just declare one day a generic, all-encompassing "Sexuality Pride Day", make it a nat'l holiday and leave it at that? After all, liberals are supposed to be inclusive and not exclusive right?

The name of the condition is "Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome . People with the condition are geneticly male, appear female externally (breasts, no facial hair, short vagina) but have no uterus, ovaries, or fallopean tubes (and thus cannot have kids), and have testes (but the testes did not descend).

Michigan is a relatively conservative state that's bogged down with three armpits, known as Metro Detroit, Ann Arbor and Flint. There are big democratic political machines in those areas that tend to overwhelm the rest of the state, especially when it comes to the press. I haven't found ANY mention of Granholms' love for the sexually-confused in any of the state papers, including the Detroit News and Lansing State Journal. If her stance were to be known on a large scale, it would go a long way in flushing her approval down the toilet.
