It almost happened on September 11. Had Flight 93 crashed into the U.S. Capitol, even worse, had terrorists managed to place a nuclear weapon aboard that aircraft or the plane that hit the Pentagon, the result would have been an almost complete decapitation of government. Terrorists may well be planning another attack on Washington. Before that happens, policy-makers must make provisions for the legitimate expeditions and decisive transfer of power to maintain the constitutional extension of government authority and preserve the continuity of Congress. To that end, they should pay close attention to the recommendations to be released today by the Continuity of Government Commission.

The Continuity of Government Amendment movement seeks to disenfranchise American citizens the right to vote for their representatives in Congress. This is not a joke. An elite group of former Clinton advisers and former public officials from both major political parties gathered recently at the American Enterprise Institute in Washington, D.C., to announce their proposal to convert the House of Representatives from an elected body to an appointed body.
Continuity of Government is led by the Brookings Institution and the American Enterprise Institute. The movement is funded by the Carnegie Corporation of New York, the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, the David and Lucille Packard Foundation, and the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation. If you've ever watched PBS, then those names should sound very familiar to you. One of the co-sponsors is the Brookings Institution, whose president, Strobe Talbott, was Clinton's foreign policy adviser. Talbott famously wrote in Time Magazine that "nationhood as we know it will be obsolete" and that he rejoiced in the coming "birth of the Global Nation."
I guess if a Russian styled Dumas (rubber-stamp) government in Washington sounds good to you, then do absolutely nothing and you'll soon get your wish. It'll absolve you too from all that dreary voting crap that nobody knows anything about anyways. Out of sight out of mind is always a good thing. And ignorance is bliss. Soon we can blissfully fly the Hammer & Sickle on 4th of July and snap a Sieg Heil when the Empress' motorcade zooms by. This is a permanent change to the Constitution that is being proposed here, and there are some heavy hitters backing this thing.

OH, and you thought that laws are an impediment for the government? Whatever gave you that idea? The government just changes the laws to suit its needs.

Don't think merely that pesky Constitution will stand in their way either; it can be done away with. I guess we could just take the wait'n'see approach, and if we don't like what we see, then we just revolt. We've done it before, no big deal. Been there, done that.
