It was, in Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung last month. That morning, I had local (Frankfurt) radio on... the classical music channel... and they do a press review every morning.
It got the briefest of mentions from the host and her interlocutor... who called it a "hate pamphlet"... did not make a dent in their self-righteous thinking... might as well try to explain color to a blind man. Nevertheless, it was good of Frankfurter Allgemeine (nationwide distribution, politically fuzzy profile but more or less conservative) to publish it. The number of Germans who are resentful of the United States is large, and the proportion of Germans who don't give a damn for Israel even greater, so any fresh reinforcement from people like Peters is welcome ...
Peters was right to hammer home the point re hypocrisy and moral posturing in Germany... German support for Israel is rapidly dwindling to the level of barely even lip service... It makes me sick.
This was published in the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. Peters was so direct because he knew it would have a shocking effect on the reading audience.
Peters knew exactly what he was doing.
Be Seeing You,
