Halliburton was one of two companies to bid for the jobs in Iraq. The other company was a French company. No way in hell they get rewarded the contract.

GOD stands for GOLD, OIL , DRUGS. Thats what its all about.

I never liked the markets and never have trusted them, The days before 911, SOmeone should look into the markets and see the trading that went on prior to 911 it would be shocking, thats why I dont like the market.Id rather put my money in a sock . LOL

Hey Boot , put it this way, she got caught, others have gotten away, others just work for powerful corps and get the contracts lets say... unfairly , SO it s all illegal ,its just if you can get away with it. I don't really buy that. Martha is not some poor schlubby housewife who was taking part in a neighborhood investment club. She IS a powerful corporation. I'm not privy to her methods of getting contracts, but she is no wilting violet, believe me. She can get in there with the big boys.

You Cheney's ex-company? As I understand it, only two ocmpanies - Bechtel and Halliburton - already had been through the security clearance process, and whatever else is needed to vet a company for such projects. If they had the expertise, and all the requirements were met legally, I don't see a problem with sending in a company with the expertise to help mitigate the situation... especially the potential for some really bad oil fires. Remember 1991?
I do not pretend to know more about this than what I just wrote. If someone has more detailed information, I look forward to seeing it. I think this was discussed on Rush's show at the time.
But ... my mother's words come ringing back to me as far as relative morality: "If Molly jumped off the Brooklyn Bridge, would it be right for you to do it, too, just because she did?" :-)
