Mr. Penn,
I enjoy your movies. I am responding to your invitation to the public to email you with comments on your recent New York Times editorial. I agree with you that the greatest problem in our nation is arrogance.
I cannot believe that there are people in this country who get rich by wearing what someone tells them to wear, standing where someone tells them to stand, wearing a facial expression someone tells them to have, and saying words that someone tells them to say. The overwhelming majority of these people are not very well educated.
These same people then presume to serve as self-appointed prophets of doom, and hold themselves out as experts on complicated domestic and foreign policy issues. Some of them even use their unjustifiable wealth to influence public opinion.
These people are arrogant. These people are ignorant. These people are destroying our nation. These people are . . . actors.
Thanks for listening.

Good one except for the part... "Some of them even use their unjustifiable wealth to influence public opinion."
I guess I feel that if a person is an actor and earns large sums of money doing what people obviously are freely willing to pay to watch, it is not "unjustifiable." It would have been better to have said, "some of these uneducated actors who have earned large fortunes by pretending, use their wealth to influence public opinion."
Just my opinion.

Nice job, except perhaps for the remark about "unjustifiable wealth." I suspect the wealth of any given actor is totally justified in the eyes of those who're happy to lay down $10 to see the latest movies.
For what it's worth, they lost me and my family somewhere back around six bucks. If they continue to please the masses, ... Well, hey, good for them. Barnum was correct.

Didnt you know that one of the requirements to be an actor is to be an expert on foreign policy? Im amazed that all these actors know more then all our intelligence agencies combined.
