Liberal is a perfectly fine word and...words mean something.
Most people, unfortunately, pay more attention to the message than they do to the actions. Slogans and 10-second sound-bites are easy...leftists know this.
Even Rush gets it half-right when he talks about the "Liberal Play-Book" when he refers to leftist tactics. Quite frankly, (and it pains me to say this) it makes him look like an ass.
Even this article...it makes some good points, but unless one filters out that Liberal=Freedom, the message is lost on an average person. Not everyone is a political junkie like we are...and this is the reason why freedom loving people have been losing battle after battle for so long. Even now that the tide is turning it can all be lost based on how the other side is allowed to shape people's ideas.
Look at what happened with Trent Lott...even though there was no love lost for the guy after the part he played in Clinton's impeachment...there still has not been a proper, honest, and painful debate on the race issue in this country that an average person is able to follow...and Robert Byrd has not been held accountable for his prior actions. Byrd should have to pay for actually wearing the white sheet. Where is the justice in this?
Anyway...as I said...this is my great pet-peeve.
