I am mighty tempted to say: Join not in the slander of Mr. Byrd who, whatever his past, disavows the KKK now and gives us no reason to believe otherwise.

That doesn't matter to anyone here. He is just a democrat and a formidable adversary. The fact that he has more respect for the constitution than 99% of those on capitol hill is irrelevant.

If Byrd had any respect for the constitution, he would have voted to remove William Jefferson Clinton from office and would not now be a willing participant in this childish game of obstructing the Senate from voting on judges nominated by the President.
