"Spunky I believe that the house SHOULD be in legal limbo right now because if he is convicted then according to Nancy Grace and that defense pr-cik Chris Pixley agreed that the entire value of the house would go to Laci's family. Scott as a convicted murderer is not entitled to anything.Nancy Grace and Chris Pixley may think Scott is not entitled to anything if convicted, but obviously they don't know the law.
CALIFORNIA STATE PROBATE CODE
251. A joint tenant who feloniously and intentionally kills another joint tenant thereby effects a severance of the interest of the decedent so that the share of the decedent passes as the decedent's property and the killer has no rights by survivorship. This section applies to joint tenancies in real and personal property, joint and multiple-party accounts in financial institutions, and any other form of co ownership with survivorship incidents.
This states that the killer is not entitled to any part of the deceased half.
IT DOES NOT SAY HE IS NOT ENTITLED TO HIS OWN COMMUNITY PROPERTY.

Could you tell me why SP's mother and father's name, both, are listed on the deed to the home as Power of Attorney? Why or how were they allowed to do this, and not Laci's mom and dad? Is it because SP is still considered the rightful owner of Laci's part of the property too?

Your post makes good sense, Spunky. It also seems logical to me that whatever Scott owned before the crime, he still owns. I'm not sure, but I remember hearing Nancy Grace and Chris Pixley that evening, and I really think they were talking about Scott not ending up owning any of Laci's property. I don't think they thought to say, oh yes, of course, he still owns his OWN property.
If/when the Rochas prevail in a civil suit against him, Scott won't own the property he owned at the time of the crime, either.
PS I hope Fred Goldman has his lawyers keep watch on every bit of un-exempt property OJ ever owns, so they can scoop it up to pay the judgment against OJ. BTW, I feel very sure that his attempts to foil that judgment were the reason OJ took up residency in Florida. Guess if Scott beats this murder rap, he'll be moving to Florida, if he stays in the U.S. at all.
