No, we haven't! And DO take a look at that reproduction of the original FBI missing poster that IamHD put up! It clearly says she was WEARING bracelet, rings, and earrings--all diamond--WHEN LAST SEEN. So how much diamond jewelry did this twenty-something young woman HAVE??

Someone mentioned Scott possibly making a homeowner's claim on he jewelry which was lost, if any. I think it was IamHD who said that, too. Boy, I SURE would like to find out what jewelry of hers he officially reported missing, and put in an insurance claim for!

If ONE of the birthstones is diamonds, does it MATTER what the other one is??

Vel's tiara is studded with Kinardly diamonds, IIRC.

"Insurance claim"...yes, that figures, doesn't it?

You were wondering how much diamond jewelry did Laci have? If he were running true to himself in trying to impress when he and Laci became engaged, he probably gave Laci a sizeable diamond engagement ring, wouldn't you think? Remember, this guy's not cheap. Remember he took flowers to Laci and Sharon, etc. I think I read that he had since given her another ring. Was wondering if it was an anniversary ring?

I just heard (I had forgotten about this) on CTV, that Scott had told Laci's sister that he was going to go golfing on Christmas Eve, but he told the police that he went fishing. Boy, he's told so many lies, he can't keep his stories straight.

This is an interesting but sad puzzle and there are so many conflicting items floating, we realize that for each piece we have, there are ten missing.

What we do know is that all of the information about Laci's disappearance was originally furnished by Scott who left his house at 9:30 AM on the 24th to go fishing 90 miles away. We assume someone saw him leave BUT do we really know that? No one saw Laci (in fact) or talked with her after 8:00 PM on the 23rd. If your hubby was going fishing, wouldn't you walk your hubby to the car?? or at least stand by the door?? or something similar??

Pieces from Scott:

1. Laci was going to walk the dog BUT he didn't know if she DID IN FACT walk the dog.

2. He knew what she was wearing including a DIAMOND NECKLACE & DIAMOND EARINGS AND A DIAMOND RING.

3. She did not answer when he called her at home from the fishing spot.

4. HE found the dog loose in the backyard with it's leash on.

My first question would be why he considered her missing at that point?? Where is her purse and car keys and was the house locked or unlocked when he got home? (It should have been locked and IT WAS because HE locked it when he left).

After that, the PLAN appears pretty simplistic. He just never expected the bodies to wriggle loose.

He used the dog knowing he was going to "find" him. He used a very distant "Marina" he must have known something about AND SAVED THE RECEIPT.

He called on his cell phone to "log" his phone call far away from home BUT he wasn't concerned enough to call anyone else to see if she was okay.

We are creatures of habit. Did Laci often wear diamonds to "walk the dog"? Did Laci call her Mom every morning (as I do)...especially since it was the day before Christmas? Why weren't the drapes opened the morning of the 24th? One of the neighbors said Laci did this every morning.

But I look at Scott's face. I see no sadness. I see no remorse and I see no feelings toward Laci's family by ANY of the Petersons.

Now, an opinion. Laci was strangled and/or smothered. That could account for the broken ribs. There was no blood that we know of BUT in the process or at some point, her water could have broken. We simply don't know. Finding the least bit of fluid in the house would certainly help the prosecution. I'd also be interested to know whether the bed had been slept in, the sheets recently changed (and whether or not there was any hair of Laci's in the bed). The other accounting for the broken ribs is one of the anchors either landed on her or was used during transport to secure her. Without the lungs functioning, the ribs would crack more easily (I would guess).

I simply don't no where to turn, to create a suspect with motive and opportunity in this young woman's death. We can now see GREED in Scott and with a mistress and his Scott-loving lifestyle, $250,000 worth of insurance and the diamonds and the house. THIS IS SCOTT. (I'll betcha that he cancelled the $250,000 ins policy on himself). It probably only cost him $1000 worth of premiums for the 250 thou payoff (which he'll never get).

I wonder if they kept their doors locked all the time?? Even when they were home. If not, Scott should have reached out to turn the doorknob and not put his key into the keyhole. I do think they will have a good case against Scott and I'm guessing it is not going to be all circumstantial but based on "fluid" when Laci's water broke at some point in time.

Whew...a binge writer!!!!

I guess he wanted HIS wife to be seen with diamond everything. I don't know how much she had. I thought there was at least one diamond (ring?) she got from her grandmother, plus there would have been her engagement ring, plus the diamond earrings and bracelet she was allegedly wearing, when he described her for the FBI missing person's report.

You can bet that Scott considered all her more valuable jewelry to be HIS as well as HERS.

There are special riders, I think, aren't there, to include jewelry in certain general insurance policies? And wouldn't it be a problem for him to claim LACI'S lost jewelry, in an insurance claim?
