LACI AND CONNOR, R.I.P., Media Frenzy and Sleazy Lawyer Notwithstanding

Laci Peterson was a young woman, beautiful inside as well as out, excitedly expecting her first child, a son named Connor, when she disappeared last Christmas. Laci’s life was filled with love and family and friends surrounded her. Life was good, no, better than good. Life was wonderful as would be expected when love is on the hearth and a new angel is about to make an entrance into this world. But this miracle of new life was about to be shattered forever and on Christmas day the world would change for all those who loved her. Those little newborn nighties would never be worn, the crib never used, the toys all put away or thrown away, so tainted would they become by a most heinous act that would stun a nation and mortally wound a family’s heart.

Her husband, Scott, said he had gone fishing, some hours away and returned home to find the leashed dog but not Laci. Gone fishing? When they are expecting their first child, on Christmas Eve day, he goes fishing hours away? While this might be an acceptable behaviour when there have been many children born and birthing had become routine but this is far from normal behaviour when the child is the first and the mum-to-be so close to term. The last trimester was already underway and as many of us normal folk know, babies have a way of arriving when they are ready and not always mindful of an external schedule.

There IS forensic evidence that Scott (( peterson )) killed her (( laci -- connor )) in the house, and the latest evidence backs it up.

Police found evidence of blood and Laci's vomit on some toweling used to clean up the murder scene. The vomit is an important component, as it indicates that her stomach contents were mixed with the blood from the wound.

Now that police have been able to examine the two bodies, they can see that there was a massive wound to Laci's abdomen, deep enough to involve the baby's flesh, too.

Don't doubt the forensics on this one, as this is what will ... seal the fate of the murderer ------Scott. He killed her because he didn't want a child, under any circumstances.

These final revelations are obviously what has turned Laci's mother so hard against Scott at this point, and she just wants her daughter's things back.

I read elsewhere that Scott had stones from Laci's grandmother's jewelry made into a new ring. Reports conflict as to whether Laci's wedding ring was also broken down foro this. When was this ring ordered? when was it picked up? Did Laci know about it? Early reports of her disappearance say that she was wearing her wedding rings at the time she went missing.

Laci may have been hiding a secret of abuse from her husband.

"Early reports" probably came from Scott Peterson; for far he's ZILCH for truthful statements.

Not sure if that is your quote ... but the idea there was blood in vomit on a mop has never been verified.

Is anybody else having trouble reading the paper now? I get to the Engagements and Weddings page, and the pictures of the beaming brides and looming bridegrooms give me the creeps. Stupid--they can't ALL be like Scott Peterson. It's like fear of being killed in the shower...this is really entering the national consciousness, if other people are experiencing this too.

My best friend remains unconvinced of Scott's guilt. She thinks we've all rushed to judgment.

She thinks we've all rushed to judgment.

So did the OJ jurors.
