I just posted above about Pixar's Andrew Stanton being from Rockport, Massachusetts. It's possible that the connection to Ellen DeGeneres may come from the fact that she was in another movie filmed in Rockport, "The Love Letter" (1999). There's been quite a lot of filmmaking activity here on Cape Ann in recent years. Off the top of my head, these also include "The Perfect Storm," "What's the Worst that Could Happen?," "State and Main," "Moonlight Mile," "The Crucible," and some Matt Damon movie about conjoined twins called "Stuck On You." It's really beautiful here, so filmmakers flock here for the scenery!

You live in my most favorite part of the country. I have looked for property in Manchester by the Sea and Marblehead neck. I have friends in Rockport and visit there often. I was just thrilled when I saw The Love Letter filmed in Rockport.
