If we could go back in the archives we could find a number of freepers who thought Rudolph was a hero.

Hopefully, they have moved on to other forums by now.

If Rudolph is found guilty, throw the book at him.

Good heavens a woman died at the Olympic bombing...I know some say there is no evidence he did that. I say we have not tried him yet...He is a terrorist if he did the bombings.

This guy is a religious terrorist .. every bit as bad as the Muslim terrorists and/or the Enviro terrorists. Like all fanatics they think that killing innocent people is justified because of their almighty cause.

I just checked two such forums (homes of former FR registrants who demonstrate extreme hatred for government and were kicked off here for their lunacy) and the news has not yet been posted. You're right, however, they'll be talking about taking up arms and what a hero this guy is.

I think you are correct about that.

Some of the people in W. North Carolina felt the same way and it was thought he was getting support from the locals.

If he has spent this time in W.NC it is amazing.
The FBI had quite a large 'command center' in the mountains complete with choppers and hundreds of men scouring the mountains.

No one admirers a murderer I hope. I think it was his brut survival skills that amazed a lot of folks. Also, this came in the aftermath of Jewell´s (sp?) arrest and phony trumped up charges. There was not too much sympathy for those representing the law at that time. Also, we don´t know if Eric Rudolph was really the bomber. If he was, he will pay.

"If Rudolph is found guilty, throw the book at him."

I won't disagree with this, but let's hope that IF it proves to be Eric Rudolph, he will at least receive a fair trial. He is innocent until proven guilty. I suspect that he is not guilty of all the crimes Janet Reno's Justice Department accused him of committing, if any. Just remember two words: Richard Jewell.

No, they haven't. He seems to be engendering quite a bit of sympathy and support from a few freepers.

I read every thread on Rudolph, I don't remember anyone attaching hero-status on him; many posters were impressed by his elusiveness and less impressive with the fed's investigative skills.

The last I heard, he hadn't yet been tried for a crime prior to becoming a fugitive.

I don't know too many details about the crimes in question, but when survivalist Bo Greitz was asked why he undertook an extensive effort to find Rudolph, he said he was convinced that Rudolph was guilty of only one of these crimes but was being blamed for the others just because he made an easy target.
