Another blow to the pro-life movement in terms of public opinion.
To: george wythe
Well, that'll do the pro-life movement a lot of good. Every time something like this happens, or someone kills a doctor or someone else, the pro-life movement takes it in the shorts.
Way to go, dudes.

Poor, poor "Dr." Benjamin.
I hope his hands weren't so shaky that he was prevented from murdering more innocent children in exchange for cash.
"Political or religious extremists." Hmmm. Good thing the police have it narrowed down so quickly. I'm sure there's no chance that a fine upstanding citizen like "Dr." Benjamin would ever commit insurance fraud. Tearing babies into shreds, yes - but nothing as horrible as insurance fraud.
I'm sure it's also impossible that the good "Dr." was targeted by the family of woman he may have accidentally sterilized or maimed. After all, abortionists never, ever commit malpractice or create any enemies other than those benighted "religious extremists."

These buildings should be designated as historical sites, like the death camps in Germany.

Hmmm, I own payphones in Ft. Lauderdale, Broward County.
One of my phones was vandalized with acid. Caused about $1,000 damage.
I called FTL Police to come out and meet me and make a report for insurance purposes. After all, I do pay property taxes on those payphones.
Police tell me no, they "don't do that". If I want to file a report, I could come down to the station and fill out some paperwork.
Excuse me, crime has been committed. I am victim. FTL Police couldn't care less.
No detectives, no special elite Strategic Investigation....nothing.
I guess my private business property is just not so important as a small fire & some spray paint at an abortion mill.

...someone started a fire...by pouring a flammable liquid on the door and through the mail slot. The small fire burned itself out but caused smoke damage inside... This stuff happens more regularly than this reporter knows. In 1989, around Christmas time, just after Operation Rescue began doing their stuff, three abortion clinics got 'torched'. The ATF studied the cases and concluded that all the evidence pointed to inside jobs. One of the receptionist desks had had a 'flammable liquid' poured all over it and it was set on fire causing damage just to the desk area. Whoever did it locked the door behind him when he left.
The pro-lifers were questioned extensively but the ATF could not finger any of them, mainly because they didn't do it. One abortionist was needing new air conditioning, so when his unit out back got hacked and torched, somehow the insurance paid for it. Hey, if you can blame the prolifers, why not see if you can get new air conditioning?
The news media never did report that the pro-lifers were not responsible. So, to this day people think that the pro-lifers did it.

Detectives could not say for sure that the arson fire and vandalism at Dr. Michael Benjamin's Tamarac office was the work of political or religious extremists, but the case was assigned to the department's elite Strategic Investigations Unit, which handles the largest and most complex investigations. They should be looking into the clinic's finances also. In the past, many of the clinic fires were for the insurance money because the clinic was failing financially.

This fire is likely connected with the mentally ill woman whose baby was aborted within the last 24 hours.
