I don't think there was any flesh.

How long was the baby inside her? Did any expert ever say how long it could remain in utero? I ask this, because the autopsy rpt. apparently says the genitalia was present and there were no marks on the neck from the tape.

If they say that, there had to be baby skin. Laci was pretty decomposed.

I am not sure if any expert has said "exactly" how long the baby could remain in utero. But if I recall correctly I think I heard them discussing the fact that as long as the water was below so many degrees the baby could remain in utero. It took the warming up of the water, which then caused gasses to build up in Laci's body and then the baby was expelled.

So based on the fact that it was winter time (cold water) when the killings took place, and there was significant flesh on the baby when it washed up on shore, the "water birth" probably took place not to long before discovery.
