To the best of knowledge, she has said that she believes in a woman's right to choose, the problem, she has also said that Roe vs. Wade is wrong and its a states right issue.

Granted, you can be both, but she does alot of double talk, making it hard to pinpoint on alot of issues.

I like Jeb, he's got more going for him then GWB did. He's a much better debater, he also "sells" conservatism much better. Instead of moderating his positions, he takes the moderates to the right. He's also not going to be easy to pin down with the dumb or stupid lines, since he's a very good speaker and with a hell of a record.

On the plus, I also like the fact that he is probably more conservative then his brother is, he is also far better in terms of speaking spanish, and is very popular with hispanics in general.

You might want to rethink Rudy on attorny general. I live in NYC, as much as liked him, he is far from conservative, and I have a feeling he would be an activist A.G. with probable populist slants.

He's not right wing, but mostly right of center and fairly conservative, but not as much as I'd like, however, there is no doubt that no one, and I mean no one is going to be able to beat him in a debate.

It also helps that he's very popular even with younger people and everything he says, because of the way he says it, just sounds like pure common sense, the fact that he at one time, and now is again, an actor (playing a right wing DA no less) on a hit TV show, would probably help him, along with all the comparisons to Ronald Reagan that surley come along.

You do not want Rumsfeld. While he is extremely conservative on foreign policy, he is very much a moderate on domestics. Even when he was in congress, he was known for being right wing on foreign policy, and a moderate who is slight to the right on everything else.

Also to note, he does not believe in supply side economics, and probably wouldn't be the guy into cutting taxes, he's also supposed to be (according to Dick Cheney of all people) somewhat liberal on some social programs (don't know which ones).

I've read through all the posts so far. I just wanted to point out a couple things.

1) Condi: Slight problem, she's pro-abortion. I will not vote for a pro-abortion presidential candidate under any circumstances.

2) Jeb: Didn't he raise taxes last year?

The person it should be is Tom Tancredo with Ron Paul as his running mate.

But, this is way too early to be handicapping the 2004 elections, much less the 2008 elections.

Name recognition? Could've sworn I've been arguing in favor of Jeb for NUMEROUS reasons, none of which included name recognition.

He shouldn't get any special treatment because of his name, but likewise, he shouldn't be automatically disqualified because of it, either, when the man would make a great candidate.

Agreed. If he wants the nomination then he's gotta earn it. My opinion, though, is that he's more than capable of winning the nomination. Whether his name were Jeb Bush or Mickey McSnarfblatt.
