"Heart of Darkness" was too mild in it's depiction of Africa.

My God. This sh*t has got to stop. How many hacked up children (cannabalized) does it take before we take some action?

No one knows how many have died. The Red Cross has found 415 bodies on the streets or in mass graves, and may just be the tip of the iceberg. Too bad the Laci/Scott Peterson case didn't involve 415 bodies.
This story will die a quick death.

Yeah, especially when led by France.

So when are these multi-culturalist poster boys going to be emigrated to the States?

Sorry but the only thing that would seperate me from my child in a situation like that is death. But hey at least the AIDES relief is on they way!

After Africa gets the $15 billion of U.S. taxpayer dollars they desperately need (to fight AIDS), everything will be much better over there. It's all about education. They just don't know any better.

What can be done? I think even the African nations that had peacekeepers in there pulled out as the situation was just too crazy.

I don't have the answer. I do know that too many Westerners threw up their hands. DeClarrk (sp?) may have been a prick and aparthied was a bad deal but are things better now?
Hutus killing Tutsis (sp), Rawanda in a blood-bath, Zimbabway killing White farmers and forcing themm off their land. Where does it end?

There is no hope for these people, its 2003 and people are still eating each other, Jesus fu**ing Christ. That's why they're no longer "the 3rd World"; they are now often refered to simply as "the Nth World".

Well if your saying White colonial rule ended too early and too abruptly in Africa I would tend to agree (and many Africans would as well if only privately). When will it end? I don't know. You brought up Rwanda and the genocide. We most likely could have stopped that blood bath with 2500 paratroops. But they would still be there today and the killing would have gone on slowly but surely. I grapple with these questions.

You brought up Rwanda and the genocide. Last weekend Bill Clinton's red face turned white when he was asked by a student about Rwanda. It was on C-SPAN.
