Dowd quietly "corrected" herself by including the full quote in a subsequent column that appeared in The Lufkin Daily News on Thursday.
I noticed this full quote inserted into her column, but it did not seem like a "correction" to me since she never mentioned the previous subject quote.

Maureen Dowd is a nitwit whose girlish effusions have always belonged in the fiction aisle, not on the editorial page of a serious newspaper.

I think I'll ride over to Pearl Harbor and do some "naval gazing" myself this afternoon.
While I'm out, I might shop for one of those "cardinal tents" to use when I go camping this weekend.
Spell checking on the computer is no substitute for proofreading.

What a great editorial, and what a refreshing thing to see actual integrity practiced by a newspaper. Maybe there's hope for our media after all.

For God, Texas, and Miss Lilly! we need a few judges of Roy Bean's bent. And I do mean bent.

I'm shocked, misreporting from the NYT......what's next? CNN? WASHPOST?.......These Liberal newspapers are becoming unreliable....{smirk)
To: No Truce With Kings
Blair, Bragg, and now The Dowdy One. If all of this were happening in a Republican administration, the NYT would be plastering it on the cover of their rag all day and every day.

Imagine that. A newspaper where "journalistic ethics" isn't an oxymoron.
An integrity bump for The Lufkin Daily News.
