"By the way, I'm adopted. I missed the plastic garbage bag and got to show up on FR all these years later. Am I placed well enough to list my thoughts on this?"

Thank you for being with us. I know a woman who gave a child up for adoption over 30 years ago, because she wasn't married. Though she had other children, and now has grandkids and even great grandkids, she still remembers his birthday, and prays he's doing well.

,,, God bless you. My daughter turned 13 on May 26. I vividly recall the day, hour and moment she was born. It was a Saturday morning, May 26 1990 at 7,06am. She had all the gunk sucked out of her throat by one of those sucker things the delivery team uses to clear the breathing passage and then they cleaned her a bit and wrapped her in nappy (Kiwi speak for "diaper"). The nurse actually handed her to me first! Her little black eyes looked straight up at me and there is simply nothing else that compete with the feeling of joy and responsibility when you witness the outset of a brand new life. Tears all round!

Anyhow, this kid is now 13. Needless to say, I prefer to recall those first few moments rather than think about the possibilities she could present me with during the teenage years! [LOL]
