Speaking of Tatu's performance [at the European Music Festival]-they gave a horrible performance. However their song souded very modern on the recently released compact disc of the festival.
Eurovision songs are not primitive , they are competently done, but always sterotypically the same- typical melodies, typical tunes, a bit of Latino style throw in to make them a little bit livelier.
Tatu's performance was not mischevious: the two girls did not kiss each other, they didn't take their clothes off, they did not wear tops with obscene writing on them.
The voting was totally unbalanced though. Great Britain did not vote for the Russian duet at all, in spite of the fact that Tatu's single 'All the Things She Said' had topped the British charts. Greece gave 10 points to the Russian performers, Latvia voted for Tatu with 12 points, so the two Russian girls did not manage to climb higher than third place on the list of winners.
After the results of the contest became known, the Russian pop stars claimed they had been 'humiliated'.

So they are not embarassed by their stage antics in front of 170 million people, but only by their finish?

Hey, I can understand why they feel humiliated: they only took
third place in the
European Music Festival!
That's like getting third place in a county hog calling contest, with the notable exceptions that:
1) The competitors in the hog calling contest actually possess some real talent, and,
2) The entries in the hog calling contest have some redeeming musical value and are more soothing to the ear than the submissions for the European Music Festival.

Wrong two words---sore losers. Not the girls so much as whoever wrote this sniveling, whining, "Waaaa! It's not fair!" article.

Oh. Do you suppose I could mail-order both of them? They can keep each other busy in the "on-deck circle" while I watch the game.

I guess there are no 'stars' that traditionally compete in this contest, kind of like 'European Idol' -since Tatu is a rookie group they must have been given a pass..

Russians are world class gold medal winners at whining, witness their Olympic Hockey team almost refusing to play last year because of 'judging unfairness' from Western countries (while their own judges were cheating!)

Is that a request? (its so much easier legally, now that both of them are 18..)
