This has so many implications its scary. For one thing it shows you how name recognition, good or bad, plays a part in our elections. It also shows what part TV plays and unfortunately it has more control over young people and does a better job of teaching than our schools or if you wish brainwashing. Next it shows our younger people dont know how to do any research on their own or they are not willing nor care to know. It also shows what morality means in this country.
I also wonder how many of our older people dont recognize names of past presidents.
If this is correct we are in big trouble in America and places like Iraq and these terrorist countries could conquer us with a media blitz.
This is sort of frightening to me.

I certainly agree- we have sort of degenerated from a culture to a "cult of celebrity"- simply being recognizable on TV carries a lot of weight with naive, gullible people. And we seem to have a lot of those...
