The inability of other Christians to receive the full implications of the Scriptural doctrine of the communion of the saints does not mean that believing the Church is eternally one in the body of Christ is a heathen notion.

You are changing my statement. I didn't say that, I said praying to the dead is a heathen notion, irrespective of our feelings about what kind of state the are in. Obviously the heathen doesn't think the dead are dead either or they wouldn't pray to them and do other rituals like cutting themselves for them. But on to Mary.

When men tell you to consult mediums and spiritists, who whisper and mutter, should not a people inquire of their God? Why consult the dead on behalf of the living?
