Since the end of the Iraq war, CNN has seen a disastrous plunge in its ratings from where they were prior to the war, CNN cofounder Reese Schonfeld observed on his website Friday. Without citing sources, Schonfeld disclosed that from January 1 to February 15, CNN/Headline News combined averaged a 43.5-percent marketshare. Last week, he said, the combined total of the two news channels is 37.3 percent. On the other hand, he noted, Fox News now commands 51 percent of the share points, up 42 percent over its pre-war numbers. "This is a time for ... analysis," Schonfeld declared on his website, . "This is unprecedented and calls for immediate action."

Actually, surprisingly enough, considering how Lib we are up here in Canada, CNN is the butt of many jokes and not taken seriously at all. Plain and simple, it's just crap, and it assumes it's audience has the brains of a gnat.
That's very scary, considering that the CBC is beyond the shadow of a doubt the most blatantly biased English-speaking news organization i've ever seen. Perhaps the Libs enjoy their news shows preaching America-hate and Bush-hate all day and all night. In such a case, I can see why they'd hate CNN, which at least is capable of mentioning Bush's name without following it with a 12-minute report on "the explosion of homelessness in Bush's America" or somesuch BS.

I fear that the "immeadiate action" he is refering to may be seen in efforts of democrat lawmakers to kill Fox News and Clear Channel...there have been rumblings about "too much control of media in too few hands", and these folks are NOT talking about Time-Warner-AOl, CBS, NBC, ABC Viacom.Doesn't matter. The SCOTUS has made it exceedingly clear that any unnecessary, politically-based interference with media ownership will be thrown out as unconstitutional. If Congress does try to pass something, Bush won't sign it. If they try it the next time a RAT's in office, SCOTUS will kill it.

CNN's motto: WE HATE AMERICA, EVERYTHING IT STANDS FOR, AND THE IGNORANT MASSES BETWEEN THE TWO COASTS. TUNE IN TO US TO FIND OUT WHAT WE WANT YOU TO THINK.BINGO!
LOL!

No surprise, The next thing they will have to do is either report the truth or perish. The propaganda became sel gratifying and self evident to the viewers, who turned them off.

Watch them become even more left wing, anti gun, anti GW, and anti the good things America represents while becoming more strident and shrieking.
Then, as their market shares continue to drop, they will repeat their losing mantras, templates and strident shrieking.

The outrage is that they lied to protect a brutal dictator(much as theyre still doing with castro), not because they wanted access, but because IT FITS THEIR AGENDA!!! That's right. They were STILL pushing the "Bush is a warmonger" theme AFTER Eason Jordan admitted that CNN lied for Saddam.

Does CNN realize that the last time Judy Woodruff smiled was the recent interview with Bill Clinton? Not only has she been in deep mourning for the Clinton years, but she can not mention anything in regards to the Bush Administration without a look of great trepidation.

From Julia Turner's review piece on Slate of Ken Auletta's hit piece on Fox:
And the last word goes to Aaron Brownthe CNN anchor Fox hosts once likened to a dentist at Ailes' request. "There's room for conservative talk radio on television," Brown says. "But I don't think anyone ought to pretend it's the New York Times or CNN."
It seems to me that this is a good thing. Perhaps Fox News should make this their new advertising theme. "Aaron Brown says that Fox 'ought (not) pretend that it's the new York Times or CNN.' Thank you, Mr. Brown. We're not the New York Times or CNN. We report the news. We don't falsify it or plagarize it."

4.) CNN show formats are poorly designed and hosts are badly matched with the format. Larry King does well in his format even though I think he's like watching paint dry. At least for Aaron Brown they pulled back the camera and put him on in a blue set, softening his image. Before his face filled the screen giving new emphasis to the term "talking head."
I've noticed that CNN has returned to much of it's "reporting about the media and reporters" themes. Fox has become the the Laci Peterson Channel (Larry King competing here though.)

Fox does harp on the Laci Peterson case far too much, just like they did on the Gary Condit situation. For most of us this is just not news. Why can't the news networks just report the news, like the Huntly/Brinkly Report, instead of telling us how to interpret what is happening. I can make up my own impressions thanks.

The Supreme Court is only as true to the Constitution as the number of members appointed by republicans...heaven forbid, should another democrat hold office for 8 years, making appointments to the court, then I fear what damage they could do...remember that were some on the Supreme Court who would have ACTUALLY allowed democrats in Florida to STEAL an election by ILLEGAL, ANTI-CONSTITUTIONAL means.

Just for discussion let's "analyze" why CNN is crumbling. Here's a few choices to throw out:
Hey, stop it. You'll give them way too much info!
On, second thought, they wouldn't know what to do with the info. The libs think that they are fair & balanced. They can't understand why no one wants to watch them. This is too much fun!

More likely their lack of Lauri Dhue. Even more likely their lack of Jennifer Eckelston(spelling?), especially when she was wearing that white coat on those chilly nights in Jordan, and bobbing her head with every sentence.

I don't know who that is. I've hardly watched any TV at all in 9 months. She's the fox-deluxe on FOX. She was the one reporting from Jordan and then Bagadad. You'll know her when you see her. She is so come-hitherish.
