Schwarzenegger May Mull Bid for Office (Ca. Governor)

RADNOR, Pa., May 26, 2003 (AP Online via COMTEX) -- Arnold Schwarzenegger says he may think about running for California governor after the summer release of his new movie, "Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines," - but his family will have a say in the matter.

"When I get to that point that I say, 'I want to run,' I will have that conversation with my family and with my close friends," Schwarzenegger told TV Guide for its May 31 issue. He said the advice of his wife, NBC correspondent Maria Shriver, a Kennedy cousin and a Democrat, will be especially significant.

"She has to give the green light and feel comfortable with it because she moved away from Washington to get away from all that kind of stuff," Schwarzenegger said.

"I'm not thinking about it (now), but I might start thinking about after "Terminator 3" is released," said Schwarzenegger, a Republican. He says the movie is his top priority for now.

"So much has to be done for marketing, publicity, commercial tie-ins, and the merchandising," he says.

Good for him. He's a good husband and father. I dont' blame his wife for tryng to get away from all that back in Washington. I would vote for Arnold if I lived in California in a heartbeat but...I understand his wife's views as well. Together they will make the right decision. I hope it is to run for Gov as he is so badly needed out there. But if he doesn't...that's good too, because his family needs him as well and they are the most important.

Schwartzenegger made millions in real estate long before he made movies, I believe. He isn't just an actor, but a highly successful business man in his own right.

Remember Dolf Lundgreen. Absolutely terrible action movies! Self made millionaire. Reagan? Actor, and also a self made millionaire.

But you've gotta wonder about someone who would ask Maria Shriver about anything...

He's a good husband and father

I don't know about that - many stories out there about his womanizing.

You have a point. She has to be a flaming liberal, but I really don't know much about her, other than the fact that she is a memeber of the Kennedy Klan.

**We need a lot more than an actor to repair the mess left by another dimwit liberal**

That is what many said when Ronald Reagan campaigned for California Governor.

He's admitted it himself HM. It's extremely bad with his womanizing, he was even pawing a woman's breasts on Euro television (I've seen the pix).

That was one of the reasons I didn't want to support him. That stuff is disgusting.

The only thing though is now I feel desperate for ANY Repub to get in there, even him. I live in CA and I'm at my wits end with the tax plans Davis has planned for us.

I'm not sure the Schwarz. will cut taxes though, as he seems to be supportive of many of the Dems tax HIKES.

HM, please google search Schwarz. about the "sources". There's too many to be mentioned here. Good luck.

Are you a blind supporter of an adulterer?

I can't stand adulterers. Think of BC.

Well if you think that being a successful actor makes you a credible and capable conservative gubernatoral candidate then you both need your heads examined. This state is on the brink of bankruptcy and we are going to need someone with a lot more management experience to pull us out of it than an actor. There is no script to read, no director to direct and no "second takes." We have already learned the hard way what incompetency and inexperience gets us.

But Reagan was a conservative actor.
Arnodl is liberal on all the issues.
Pro-abortion, pro-gay rights etc...

Just last year his great crusade was to further
the cause of the Public schools as the new
parents. Expanding afer hour school programs
to rob more money form taxpayers to be used
to push parents aside replace them with the state.
