Strange lights at Booger Bottom

UFO investigators Olivia Newton and Jim Clifford are trying to solve the case of the red dots at Booger Bottom.
Prank calls, publicity seekers and strange natural phenomena are nothing new. But the tale of three people driving on a rural stretch of highway called Booger Bottom, near Greenville, Georgia, got their attention.
Newton and Clifford work for the Mutual UFO Network of Georgia. They listen to the stories no one else will hear, and try to find an explanation.
A 50-year-old Tucker man, his brother and his 73-year-old sister-in-law from Warm Springs reported seeing round red objects the size of silver dollars in their sport utility vehicle last month.
They said 50 red objects appeared as solid lights and seemed to scan them, then vanished.
"They all said it was not of this world. They felt it was intelligent. They felt they had sought them out for the sole purpose of scanning them. Scan. That was the word they used," said Newton.
The 73-year-old woman called police and the GBI, but they didn't want to hear her tale of aliens in the dark. The National UFO Reporting Center sent them to MUFONGA.
"She said, 'I've got to know what this is. Are they coming back after us? What if they cart us off?' " Newton said.
The witnesses gave Newton no grounds for doubt.
The Tucker man reported seeing a red swirling object beside the vehicle before the lights appeared.
"The floorboard again was red-hued, as it was in the back seat. I looked out the window and over the dashboard onto the hood and did not see any activity as was being awesomely and erratically displayed in the front and back seat," he said on the National UFO Reporting Center's Web site.
Newton and Clifford could find no explanation. There were no trains, no airplanes, no close houses that could reflect light. There wasn't an area where practical jokers could have hidden and used red pointer lights, especially when the three were traveling at 35 mph.
Newton plans to look into why the area is called Booger Bottom, to see if it stems from a similar incident. Locals say the name may have come from the "Boogey Man."

It was simply their descendants in the future using an interdimensional device to do a geneological study. :^)

FWIW
The next post about red spots appearing in the poster's booger bottoms is worth a belly laugh, IMHO.
Curious sorts of phenomena, these. And evidently increasingly common if my rough straw poll of my memory is any clue.

I am always taken by these pictures, they so remind me of
my family pictures from the the 20s.
But then these were taken not too long ago.
Hope you are well.
My best, Tet.

LOL! Thanks for the ping, Ms Feather. Reading it brought to my mind the Marfa Lights out in west Texas. For hundreds of years people have been reporting lights moving out in the desert with no discernable explanation. I kind of like it that there really are some mysteries!

The name of the location is kind of hilarious.
But the phenomenon is pretty weird.
