This is very very weird.
Most sailors lost are blown off the deck of a carrier.
Either they let discipline and ordinary caution go to hell so close to home or they have a psycho on board getting even with people.

My little brother worked on avionics on F-14's on the Nimitz. One of the crew wasn't paying attention to the fact the jet was still being unhooked from the cables, and had the pilot gun the engine. If my brother hadn't been holding on to one of those heavy electronics cables he would have been toast.

We had on go over from the hanger deck on the way home from Desert Storm, but that was intentional. Two in a couple of days is not good!
